I've been wanting a VHT/Fryette for a long time, and have come close to pulling the trigger on a Deliverance a couple times recently since they are selling at very reasonable prices, but had a question for those that have them. What is the noise floor like? I typically run a noise gate in the effects loop to get things super quiet. Since there is no effects loop, I'd be running the gate in front and was just curious if these amps are generally pretty quiet, or if there is a lot of hum/hiss when idle.

I'm also hesitant to go with a Deliverance since I've always preferred delay in the loop vs. in front of the amp, but I'm not sure that's a deal breaker for me.

I had a Deliverance awhile back, and had absolutely zero issues with noise at all. I really liked that amp. I don't use FX loops, so it really didn't matter to me personally.

Agree with all of the above. Quiet amp. But, no loop needed for my rigs as I've always run my Decimator pedal in front...with every amp in the last 12 years.

I had run gates in front and was happy for years, but once I started using a gate in the loop I've never looked back. My main amps right now (6505 & 6505+) have a pretty high noise floor so it's probably a lot more noticeable with my rig than many others.

I also pretty much always run an EQ in the loop to further sculpt the tone, but from what I've seen of the Deliverance that is probably not going to be necessary.

New ones come with a loop but they only seem to pop up on their website every once in a while.
I believe they can also install a loop in older ones as well.

Badass amps, low noise floor. Mine has a loop. I usually only run my eventide eclipse in the loop.
I run a fortin Zuul out front to keep things super quiet when I use boosts.
I usually always boost my Fryette d120. It loves boosts!

Interesting about the boosts, the D60 was one of the amps that was very picky with boost pedals. Like the Wizard MTL, any Cameron, and most JCM 800 2205/10s that I've owned none of my boost pedals worked with those amps. I did have a D120 for a little while, it was a little too modern for my tastes and I sold it to get another 60. Probably didn't even try to boost it..damn I might have kept it if it takes boosts better than the 60.

It is odd how different amps react to the same pedals. I really like a 2203/2204 and an SD-1 but not at all with an 808-type pedal. But a 1959, I don’t mind the SD-1 but the 808 is just the perfect match for me.

How’s the D120 sound with your Diezel cab? I have a front loaded 4x12 and 2x12.

I only have a savage drive, VFE focus, and jhs bonsai. The d120 loves them all. Never tried the 60.
I play metal, so YMMV.

I’m selling the diezel cab. I go back and forth on selling it.
The d120 likes my Friedman cab and Bogner Uberkab for my taste.
It didn’t sound bad with the diezel at all. Just preferred other cabs.

Cool amps, I could never adjust to the dry gain sound for leads, but I absolutely loved the 120 I had for metal rhythm playing. Tight and low noise floor like most have said, I always boosted it up front.
Wish I still had mine

D60 I had was quiet. It had a factory installed loop and loved an MXR 10 band in there. With a ts9 out front, that amp could bring down buildings.

Do it!

 I bought one. Should be here on Thursday. If I gel with it I’ll probably have the loop and less/more switch added.

Excellent

I've been thinking about adding a MORE / LESS foot switch.
