Anyone know where I can find the 100/CL schematic?

I think the amp sounds good, but to my ears it lacks gain and is flubby. Was hoping to find a schematic to have it modded by a guy here in the Columbus, OH area.

Found a couple of old threads via google (vintage 2003) saying Steve doesn't share his schematics. Being that its 2013, has that line of thinking changed?

If I can't find one I guess I'll just have to explore different tubes, check the bias and plate voltage. When I played my my buddy's 50/CL I thought it was killer.  Gas will be the death of me.

Are you sure that Randy's wasnt modded? I know he had one that was...

Talked with B last night on email. It was Randy's Deliverance that he modded, not the Pitbull.

This was probably the issue. My 100cl is not flubby at all and definitely not lacking in the gain dept.

Don't know for sure, But I do not think Steve releases schematics and never will.

Not the amp! change tubes... My 50CL is one pissed off little beast, no lack of gain and punches like a boxer....

One thing I will say (only negative i can think of seriously)

As far as the gain...I still do not think it lacks but after thinking about my reply I must admit I do use a boost 90% of the time.

More so for the tightness than extra gain. However...The boost DOES make it more gainy and really helps with the dive bombs. So take that as you will, maybe it does lack in gain to some. But when I turn on the boost I do in fact have to turn the gain DOWN to compensate.

Ok, cool. Thanks for the feedback dudes. I'll take it to Laura for the ValveQueen treatment.

Keep in mind (50cl guys chime in) I think the 50 is a bit different than the 100w. Might have a rectifier in it or something.

Well turns out the dude who mods stuff for me has found some good intel on the Pitbull.

I'm going to have this thing modded in addition to some tube expoloration and send this "bitch" over the top! :D

In addition to some extra gain, we're going to make the clean channel CLEAN. Should be a fun project!

well I have a 50CL and intially I thought it lack of gain
. but after I gotten a boostassio it really change my thoughts on the gain factor.. that is the gain is suffice to bring metal territory.. but perhaps you need something like boostassio a clean boost on to make it fatter and alot more vibe..i dont think my 50cl is flubby too maybe you can try to set your treble to slightly past 1500?

yes 50cl has gotta tube rectifier in it for more depth thickness and warm..the silicon rect has more bright to it...thou many compare 100watt to a 50watt and result to be more aggressive for a 100watt amp..true? am saving up for a clx or ul.. :D

Thats awesome.....If I could mod mine, I would add a mid cut similar to the one on the Herbert.

And I REALLY want to try the Boostasio but even more so the S.A.S

I prefer the boostassio better as a boost than the SAS... is cleaner clearer
I didnt find the SAS as a distortion pedal better than another boost for gain section...but am happy to have the two and I never use op amp pedal anymore it wasted me hundreds amd hundereds of dollars looking and hunting till I getta EF86 tube pedal.... however am very eager to try tube pedal which runs 12ax7...i heard effectrode has gotta nasty one...

Do none of your CL's have the EQ?!

Maybe I'm not metal enough?...  (Too old!)

But my 50CL with the EQ Dialed in is the only reason I keep this amp. I'm more of a blues rocker, but this thing is METAL 100% at least to me when I want to kill small animals...

I also kept it because of the rectifier... It's a great "High master/low channel volume/all switches off/low gain" blues vehicle...

beautiful bloom and note separation...

I run my 100cl with master 100%

Rarely use the eq. When I do its either a slight boost on lowest band or a slight cut on 2nd to highest band. But again rarely use it. It suits me better for what I like without it.
