I've been wanting a VHT Pittbull CL or a Diezel of some sort for a long time ....

Have always wanted an Einstein .... ( recently heard the DMoll is a feature upgraded Einstein )

I've never played a Diezel of any sort ...... the only thing close to the PittBull I have played is the Synergy Module into my Mesa Strategy 400 ( which I friggin loved )

looks like currently I can get either one for the same price ...............

anyone want to weigh in on pro's and cons ...... these are the vids that sell me on either one ...

Im gonna tag @Orvillain , because I am sure he has some thoughts on this subject.

I think, but I could be wrong, he owned/owns both of these, at one time, or had access to both.

Again, I could be wrong.

The Fryette will cut better in the mix. Fryette cuts better in the mix than most amps.

Both are excellent amps. I'm fairly familiar with both if you have questions. I haven't had either around in awhile.

I’ve owned a lot of diezels and just didn’t vibe with them. I like the VHT/fryette stuff quite a bit. I just didn’t like the character of the diezel stuff.

Shameless plug but I’ll probably list my fryette CLX soon.

These amps are very much opposites. The Fryette’s are open, clear/articulate, punchy, but also imo dry, hollow mids and a little sterile in some ways tone wise for my taste

The Diezel’s are more thick, low mid dominant amps. The D-moll was one of my least favorite Diezel’s. Really wouldn’t recommend that one. Haven’t tried an Einstein, but some clips of it sounded good

I don’t honestly love either of those options, but maybe worthwhile if the price is good enough. Not sure what the going rate is for either amp these days, but may be able to recommend other stuff I like more in the price range

I'm looking for something different ..... I have enough Mesa's and I have the Marshall side covered enough for my taste ....

I have always wanted an Einstein, but recently I did some research into the Big Max. Check it out, it seems more raw...it's still modern sounding. I want to play one soon.
This is the only diezel I liked. I heavily lean Marshall and its very 2204. This is also why I liked the el-34 fryettes but didn't like the Kt88 versions. Big Max is, in my opinion, one of the best pedal platforms. And the price point is pretty solid.

It makes sense to me on all of those levels. I use pedals but just for different OD's. Just a big fat sounding amp but more modern than goosing old bassman (and reliable)

I guess for the price that’s solid then (assuming under $2k). Maybe also a SLO30 or or for a little bit more used a Bogner Snorkler 50

either one is about 2K to my door ..... I've had a Bogner Ecstasy 3534 .... and I currently have a Shiva 20th ....... the Shiva is great .... especially the cleans ...

Nice, the snorkler is one of my 3 favorite Bogner's along with the Rev 1 Uber and '90's Caveman, but doesn't really do cleans

XTC 101B is different enough from a Marshall and a “must own” to give a shot if you never have. Uberschall is wicked as well, but I’ve never played the ultra model.

I've come close to pulling the trigger on a Uberschall a few times ..... I had that synergy module as well .... those were my two favorites ... Pittbull and the Uberschall

the 101B has been considered a few times also ...

Yeah the early Uberschall's are some of my favorite amps. If you can get a good deal on a Rev 1 or 2 Uber I'd do it

The Snorkler to me is the pinnacle of Bogner chewiness and richness. The Rev 1 Uber is the pinnacle of cartoonish brutality in Bogner and the Caveman has some of my favorite cleans. It's sorta like a lower gain shiva or XTC, but more organic, rich tone quality to it

XTC's are very nice too, just for my taste a bit smoother and more polite than what I prefer

I think if you can get either to your door for $2k, then you can’t go wrong. You should be able to unload at that price if you don’t like it. So maybe just go with what your gut says it gets you a little more excited to try

I rarely buy an amp that isn't from GC ....... some people think I might be nuts for this ..... but to be able to try out an amp for 45 days for the 36 dollar shipping cost and return it without a glance is priceless ....

if I like the amp enough and it has some issues I just fix them ... whether it's circuit related or the tolex is shit etc ...

The CL Pitbull is a great amp. Had a couple and even the 50CL is incredibly punchy with a huge sound. 100CLX is my favorite Fryette, wish I would have kept that one. The DMoll is the fastest amp flip I've ever made. I've owned a couple Herberts too and they were ok but still nothing I kept longer than a month or so.
