Hey guys,

I'm a longtime reader, mostly enjoying tons and tons of your gear pics.

Here's my problem.

I have an '05 Pittbull UL. Most of the time I run it through a cab, but I wanna go for silent recording.
The UL has that poweramp mute-funtction. The manual says as followed:

  1. Deactivates power amp while leaving preamp active.

I'd go from the Line Out directly to my PC, but I'm concerned that I'll blow up my OT if I leave the cab away.
Does anyone know wether the Poweramp is really shut down if switch it to mute, or not?

If been contacting Fryette a while ago, but no respnse yet.

leave the cab hooked up and try it, if it really cuts the power amp out you won't get sound out of the cab, if not you won't hurt the OT

I did that, nothing to hear.
Though I'm not quite sure whether the signal itself is muted or completely shut down. Know what I mean?

It doesn't matter whether the sound is just muted or the entire power section is actually shut down.
If there's no signal going to the power section, you're not going to hurt your OT.

If I understand correct the line-out is a tap off the power amp. If the poweramp is off there well be no line-out. Try using the effects loop out (preamp out) .... maybe it well work that way ? Just a guess.
