Vht power amp for slaving an amp. 50 or 90?

Basically I am going to crank the amp into a load box
Out to the VHT...

Is there going to be a huge tone difference
Between the 2/50/2 and 2/90/2?

Thanks

If you are going to slave, why not go solid state for the power amp? You want the sound from the power section of your tube amp maintained as much as possible, so why color the tone with additional tubes? I'd get as powerful and as high quality of a solid state power amp as I could get...

50 uses EL34s which do indeed have their own flavor.
90 uses KT88s which are really open and gobs of headroom.

I use the 2/90/2 for my Axe-II and leave "poweramp" sims ON, just FWIW.

At lower to moderate volumes, it's pretty clear and clean. I'd find it hard to imagine pushing it to break up - it's ridiculously powerful.

I slave into a VHT Classic. I love what the EL34s add to the slaved 6L6s.

Thanks...
I had the 2150 before...awesome...but a biatch to move around... hence the smaller power amp idea...

Something like a Matrix?
Depends on your speakers and how much power you need for the gigs you play. I have the Matrix 800 and for me it is killer. I use it for wet sounds in my Wet/Dry/Wet setup...

But If I use the power amp for the actual Power...of the amp...Would the matrix be ok...For a wet sound for sure....
Most places are mic'd up...

Sure, you are getting the tube vibe from the slaved amp. The Matrix is just amplifying that. Steve was pointing out that the Matrix won't add much other color, which is a good thing.
