I had a preamp tube go bad the other day, but hell I had that happen in one of my Mark IVs (3 times - Tung Sols were bad), other than that no issues....the thing sounds FANTATSIC! :)
 
They couldn't get them installed cause Krank had bought them all..... :lol: :LOL:
 
Y'know, my first gig after I bought my used Rev, I had a power tube short out and fry the tube socket board.....they figured out it was a cracked solder joint that had caused a carbon trace.
New board, completely retubed, N/C !!!


... so I was joking about putting a smoke alarm in!!
 
Any clips yet?? I know you don't use cleans, but what do you think of the clean channel?
 
No clips yet.....my project for the day is to go pic up a cheap video card, and get my new computer up and running so I can start. Clips coming this week.

And yes I use the clean channel. :thumbsup:

The clean channel is cool, I' haven't dialed it in exactly where I want it yet, but I'll get it there....

i may have a card NIB if i can find it, got it maybe 7 or 8 years ago for editing camcorder stuff and never got it installed. seems like it's was designed were you could run analog stuff into it? i'll pm you if i find it?
 
Cool, I just figured I'd hit walmart and get the $25 video card, dont reallt need anything "nice" just something to run my monitor, no integrated video on my motherboard. :doh:
 
yea, doubt mine would do anything for your monitor?


i was thinking you was gonna use it for running mics or something?
 
no frys close by.....closest one is Dallas (5 hours away). :doh: I wish we had a frys here, I loved that place when I was in Dallas.
 
I was one of the guys that reported that my SigX was down for repair but it turned out that one of my preamp tubes shorted "old mullard that I had used plenty", and it took out the resistor next to that tube socket, I replaced with vht's advice and fired it up with a new tube, no problem and I could see on the tube that it had some burn marks on the glass on 2 sides which were definitely not there before. Other than that, my amp is the 8th made sigx so it had too high of a bias and I had to bring it down because I did blow a couple fuses not knowing that they had revised the bias formula for this amp and mine had the original which is high. With the right tubes which in my opinion is not the sovtek, this thing has mega head room and chunk, you can hear it in my clips that I made of this amp which by the way are just riffs I did to show the amps balls and chunk. Not meant to be an example of an elaborate clip, they are just from guitar to amp , no effects at all not even delay or reverb.
