VHT Ultra-Lead video...

I had a UL no EQ for many years. I really liked, but when it was time to get a new set of power tubes put in it, Savage Audio recommended putting EL34's in it. I took there advice and it totally changed the amp, for the better. People have said you can't use EL34's in the UL, but I used them for 5 years playing out(3 retubes) no problems. Sold it to buy a Herbert, but they're great amps.
 
How does it compare to the Landry? In the videos sounds like the VHT has more low mids.
 
Thump you seem to always float back to VHT when everything else fails.......nothing wrong with that, they are fabulous amps. Sounds great.

I bet the Bogner cab has something to do with that. I'll tell you, I was not always a huge fan of V30s but there is some serious mojo in the Bogner oversized 2x12. Every amp I try through it sounds fantastic. I know you've owned the CL series but you should give the CLX a shot someday. I loved it!
 
Just had a chance to listen to it, sounds good Chris. :thumbsup:

It sounds similar to the UL I used to have, but youtube always has somewhat of a masking effect when it comes to clips... :)

This Bogner 2x12" sounded badass with the V30s, but I like it even more with the speakers in there now. Still, it's a great cab all around!

What did you replace the speakers with? Was it literally just a simple switch out? Just curious.
 
Have you ever owned an XTC Chris? I think you would love them...

I've owned a bunch of VHT amps (D120, D60, 50CL no EQ, 50CL w/EQ, two ULs, and a Sig:X) and love the tone. For some reason, I can't keep one around very long though. I always get curious about other amps and can't afford to keep everything at once, so I trade. lol...

But yeah, I love the VHT tone and always have. My favorite VHT amps are the Deliverance models and the UL.

Some people think the Sig:X is close to the Deliverance tone, but I disagree. I think the Ultra-Lead is closer.
