Just picked this up. I dig it, it’s pretty versatile. Great clean, crunch and tight chunky gain. 100 watts 6L6 smaller than most heads. Has midi but still trying to figure out. Going through a 2x12 Soldano cab with vintage 30 and wgs et65. Has a built in tube screamer type drive too

these have grabbed my attention but..haven't pulled the trigger yet

What's the go with these amps? Never played any. I like the features and size.

Buddy of mine got a smaller kraken. First week the soldering on one of the pots came loose. Two weeks later the amp failed and had to be sent back where he bought it. I'm a little concerned with the quality. Tone was alright, a little tubby for my taste.

You know thats not the first complaint like that Ive heard about those amps. Phil Mcknight went through 2 of them before giving up. You dont really see them outside of that one youtube click.

I am touring with mine right now 45 shows in sounds great and I really like it. No reliability problems. They are as solid as any major amp builders out there. I have EL34s in it now and may prefer them

Alot of you videos, even with different amps have a certain character to them that I really like. What cabs do you play through, and is there a particular way you like to dial in your amps?

Thanks! I use different cabs v30-g1265 mix, greenbacks, creambacks. I try to dial in just enough gain but not too much and usually run my mids hi? no real recipe though

Heard some really good demos of this amp. Not a lot of talk about it. Any recent experiences?

I heard Rabea Massad playing one last year on festival and it sound really good. Crisp and clear, I think it is his sound. I like it sound/feature wise but I'm little suspicious about 100W from 12.5kg / 27.5lbs weight in stage volume situation.

I have one of these, Its a killer amp. I honestly wasn't expecting to be as good as it is. It is extremely versatile from pristine cleans to modern high gain brutal stuff, midi switching and a built in TS style boost that is actually very usuable to the point where I don't need an external pedal to hit the front. It doesn't have a huge low-end though if you are looking for that. It sits nicely in the midrange , plenty loud and cuts through a mix very well. I used it live with a cover band recently and it did very well.

I recently bought a used Super Kraken through Guitar Center, and already returned it. The amp sounded so fucking dark that I'm nearly convinced it was a lemon. Weird because it was in mint condition, and GC said the dude who traded it in was legit. I tried the Kraken preamp pedal prior and it was fine. This one required treble at max, EQ in the loop with 2K+ cranked, and then everything got fizzy.

Rabea gets some killer tones on his clips, so I was pretty disappointed. Regardless, this amp desperately needs a presence control, and at least a second set of controls for the gain channels.

They come stock with all JJs.... Bad match for this amp IMO. It's not a bright amp and then putting all JJ preamp tubes plus JJ 6L6s makes it a bit overly dark ,warm and smooth. I would experiment with different tubes if anyone wants a more bright and open highend .
