Its a small box and its about 40 watts. 2 6l6 power tubes and 3 12ax7's and a tube rectifier. The amplifier was loosely based on a jtm45 head. The idea was to make a amp that was more of a classic / vintage vibe. Enjoy
You definately nailed it Dave. Great job.

Man, that sounded awesome! You had me at Anthem!!

Seriously what a great sounding rock tone.

Man I keep listening to this over and over again. It's just the perfect tone. Thing is, I got the money for one, which makes it even more dangerous.

Dave, 230V version is no problem and sounds the same?

I'm loving this one...pair it with a Marsha and everything I care about is covered!

I don't know if I have the money for one - I've asked but haven't seen a price posted. Maybe I missed it?

with dave you can't go wrong man. one of the most seasoned tonemen in the game.

once vic is done with my peacemaker and i've thoroughly abused it, i'd love to bring it down to your studio and leave it for a while so you could "explore the space" with it.

based on how your tastes are migrating, i think my original suggestion i had for you way back on your amp journey to look at mojave amps may play well into your current thinking.

but you had to get your high gain phase out of your system first. i understand. :D

I'd take this tone over the one in the original post. No offense to Dave or the OP.

Thanks

I was hoping that it would be in the $1,500 - $1,800 range. It sounds great and I certainly wouldn't mind having one, but I can order a new Reeve's Super '78 for $500 less - and they sound fantastic as well.

There's always a decision to be made

Amp sounds great, production sounds great. Were all the mics in the end mix?? Interested in that Heil.

I kind of did a blend but yes all 6 mics were in the mix. We phased and blended. The Heil is really great, it's like a fatter and different color from the 57. The Beyerdynamic M500 was my fav on the amp. Just killer.

James, you said the could do alot of different types of music. Could the amp go as far as doin something like guns n roses or AIC ?

Totally. It has the right voicing for both.

Would you reccomend that instead of the Marsha? Those are the tones i usually want to sound like.

the DS is cheaper than the marsha so im more interested in the DS haha.

there's def more gain than im realizing? correct?

The DS may be better for what you want. The gain on most of the video was on about 7, so yes there's more gain but you'd be surprised how those bands record with many layers and less gain on each layer. Remember for a lot of music the more gain can equate to the guitar track sounding softer on the attack.

Well cool. that does seem to be more what I need. If it can do AIC then it can do soundgarden type tones to then right?

I have a 5150iii that ive been using and ive kept the gain on that at 6. I should be fine then with the DS

Are there any marking on the amp for the nobs? I didnt see any.

I really wish I could add a Loop!
