I'll agree w/ what Kage said as well..

Also.. Until you guys can do better,

I'd say you guys can politely jam it.. : )

It's always sad to me when some people on these forums treat playing music as if it were a contest or sport.

Whatever dude. My favorite band can beat up your favorite band.

I agree with Kage and BionicMark, they were having a good time, playing music and it was just a jam, and it looked like a blast was being had. I would love to see some better videos to check out the tones as well.

Thanks to everyone who attended our NAMM event on Wednesday, and we are looking forward to doing it again tonight! We are so grateful to our stellar artist lineup, who gave of their time and energy to put on an amazing rock show. If you are able to make it down tonight, we have another great evening of music planned, along with a lot of great new things to show you.

All i know is I saw Andy live a couple weeks ago, and his tone was ridiculously good. The playing was unreal. So that video sounded nothing like seeing him live. Had to be cool. I know on his FB page, he was pretty stoked about getting to jam with the guys he played with.

Hi guys,

Was a fun night! Keep in mind, Andy and Doug and myself just got up and kind of haphazardly got a tone and then went for it, is discombobulating at times doing things like this because they are throw and go's- you gotta just try and have fun and not worry about the tone too much and all that. Whoever was up before might have the treble dimed or something and that's easy to miss when you are just trying to get a song started ASAP. Like with any jam, you gotta just be you and try and play something interesting I guess, haha.

I actually will have another crack at this tune tonight with Steve... I'm already thinking of what to do different, ha!

Doug and Andy can sure tear the shit out of a guitar, ill say that! Damn... The chops!

Just an FYI, I never meant to say one was "better" than the other. That's silly. They're all KILLER players and I've been in tons of jams that I just walked up on stage, using other players gear and I'm glad none of that stuff ended up on YT!

It's all in good fun.

Hope I didn't come across as dickish in my post. I think I got my hopes up when I saw three of my fav's listed on a video. Three guys with distinct styles and mad chops. Shouldn't be surprised that an impromptu performance recorded on a cell phone doesn't rival the quality of the stuff I troll around for on youtube.

You're right there and belong in their company.. all amazing players, with great ears and great chops. Amazing how people just look to dig or find something negative in something as cool as 3 top players jamming at the Suhr factory thru a damn handheld camcorder. If the 'complainer's' need any references.. please check any other clip of Pete, Doug or Andy and sit back and enjoy tone, chops, passion, and music. Glad I got to see you 3 up there... whether thru a camcorder, a soup can with a string attached, or whatever. Cheers and have a blast tonite

Side note, looking at picking up a matrix gt1000fx for my wet/dry rig.. Your 800fx and 1000fx comparison is such a great vid. Is the gt1000fx THAT much better or would the 800fx suffice my needs. Running a Killer Kali into a suhr iso line out, into 2x12 dry cab, lineout to fx, into power amp, out to 2x12 wet cab. Thanks and all the best Pete!!

well they are just jamming and having fun so who cares ?

Everybody is welcome to their opinion but Im going to just go with the above. If any one of us armchair critics or weekend/basement warriors gets asked to Jam at the Suhr factory during NAMM, we're all welcomed to play whatever we deem appropriate..

I liked it and couldnt give a damn if it was proper or appropriate...

Kage

Same here bro! Looked and sounded like they had a great time!

The opening set of phrases by Pete were super cool. Very interesting take on that song. I like it.

Ok, why not nitpick. Yeah, sometimes I don't get playing what amounts to excersizes over Voodoo Child. They say shred died 20 years ago but we all know that you put more than 1 guitarist on stage and a sword fight breaks out every time.

Other than that, well they are just jamming and having fun so who cares right? And not sure if it's the camera but only Pete had decent tone there.

Can you please change your avatar!?!?!? It's like watching a NY STate anti-smoking commercial ! hehe. . Have a good day though :D

Eric

I tried changing it but it keeps going back to big lips.

But it always goes there. Show a video of 3 guys playing and everyone chimes in with the winner.

fuck ya,i just wish I could of been there

For me this video is a highlight due to Playing onstage with 2 of the best there is,BUT I was called onstage completely out of the blue right before this song, I didnt have time to get a proper tone and just had knobs wherever they were when I went up there, youcant exactly stop the show to dial in tones ;) as for my playing what you guys don't know is that during Pete's solo Doug gets in my ear and says"you better shred!". So when Doug Aldrich requests silly shred licks that's what you play haha, you can actually see me laughing the vid when he says it. But it was just something that happened without a setup planning or anything, and it was amazing fun. No I dont like my tone in it either, no I wasn't playing anything serious but it wasn't about that.

That said it is an amazing feeling to rock alongside those two monsters!!

It was fun to watch Andy
I'd love to see anyone with their panties all in a bunch get up there and do better
Its only rock and roll, please avoid all the rules. Your taking all the fun out of it for those of us who dont care

Looked like a great time was had by all and that's what a jam is all about.

Wish I could have seen it live...glad it was posted for us to watch, how fun

Thanks!!

Andy,I caught your show the second night. You ripped and your set was the highlight of the night. You had tone and the monstrous chops. I was hoping the Suhr people would release some video of that night as I know they were filming. What amp were you playing that night? I was the one with the AC/DC skull cap.
