Dave(Avatar) sent me some grill cloth to match my cab,so I put it on my VH140C. I think it looks sexy as hell. What do you guys think?

That's sweet! The front panel reminds me of my old Ampeg AX-44C I used to own.

Probably the best that amp has ever looked. Interesting mix of vintage with SS brewtalz.

Looks awesome. I wish my vh-140C had all the knobs on it and was as clean as yours.

Thanks guys! I realize it's not an Axe-fx but it's what I can afford.

that looks nice, wish i still had mine.had a chance to buy one at sam ash last year, dirty as hell though it was like 300 bucks ,should of jumped on it

That thing looks killer! Thats one of those that I never should have sold

That is AWESOME!!!!

I love Ampeg VH140C amps. Killer amp at any price IMHO

do you boost yours?

Haven't had to. I just really love the tone. For metal it sounds great w/EMG's.

i gotta get emg's. you should get a metalzone and try boosting. really sweetens it up

FWIW, I never boost these, but I do love an MXR EQ pedal in the loop

All I use is an MXR smart gate. With the gate and EMGs you can play at mind blowing levels w/ very little noise.
I need to get an EQ but I'm really lazy about buying and trying stuff. As far as playing metal goes I am really happy with my Ampeg and my XXX. With those two amps I pretty much have the brutal tone covered.
I have been on a quest for a stoner rock tone (think The Sword) lately, it's hard to accomplish w/EMGs. I am picking up a early 80's Japanese set neck LP copy w/ a diMarzio super distortion in the bridge. That should help but what pedal/pedals, settings on either amp, should I use to find that.
Anyone?
