Thats nto a gig bag it is a TKL brown 1990's ES hard case, you can see the feet on the bottom of it.

Understood. I have eyes as well as 4 of them in my apt. It is, however, not an ATA approved flight case. The case he had it in is cool for taking it to a gig around town, or putting it in your car...but that is about it.

Just makes me hate flying even more. Never flown with my guitar and don't plan to.

Ok, DOES EVERYONE KNOW IF THE GUITAR IS IN A GIGBAG YOU CAN PUT IT IN THE OVERHEAD?!!!!!

We have flown with 6 guitars in hard cases that were stowed either in the overheads or in the closet. Rarely did we have to check them.

I fly 1-3 times per year and never had to check my guitar. That said, I bring a low end Charvel that sits in a chainsaw case and fits in the overhead or closet. I have had the crew put the guitar in the crew quarters as well.

You need to always be extra nice to the crew, even when they are crabby. A smile and thank you still goes a long way.

I'm VERY curious to see how it's ony $1900 of damage... Pics of guitar dammit!

ANY Semi hollow body would be completely destroyed... and on an OG old ass guitar the friking bridge alone would be that much...

The guitar itself was pinned between two beams and took workers an hour to retrieve it. It sustained damage to the bridge, neck and tail that would cost an estimated $1,980

A refinish would cost that...?! Scratches?

Note to self: leave vintage guitar at home when on tour and flying!

That's what I was thinking too. It really looks like an "all of the king's horses and all of the king's men" scenario to me.

Right!? Seems fishy... fell out of the case onto pillows, or a Serta sleeper?!
