Just seen on twitter he has cancer. Cant find any more info yet.

Anyone heardanything?

I feel fortunate that my cancer sent me an alarm call in the form of ‘the cough that wouldn’t quit’. Otherwise, how would I have known? After several months of trying every inhaler known to man, my doctor finally had me X-rayed. A further CAT scan revealed that enlarged lymph nodes were doing wrestling manoeuvres on my windpipe – hence the cough. What was causing the enlarged lymph nodes, however, was yet to be determined, so I underwent a surgical biopsy on March 11th, the first day of Leppard rehearsals for our Viva Las Vegas shows. Obviously, I didn’t make it to rehearsal that day, but it’s okay; I know the songs by now...

My diagnosis was Hodgkin's Lymphoma and 6 months of chemotherapy is the prescribed treatment. I’m about 2 months in and feeling rather spiffy, all things considered. Hodgkin's has an over 80% cure rate, so by my reckoning, if you’re going to have a cancer, Hodgie’s is the one to have!

The reason I’m sharing this with you is because, despite cancer and chemo, me and my new aerodynamic hairstyle (read: no hair) are going on tour this summer with the band and I don’t want anyone to be so shocked by my new look that they ask for a refund. Simple economics, really.

My family, friends and bandmates have all been extremely supportive through this and I look forward to a summer full of shows with both Def Leppard in June/July and the debut of Last In Line this August.

I work in the medical field and he is lucky to have that version..Non-Hodgkins is much worse. Good luck to him..it can be overcome. :rock:
 
Horrible news. Hoping he has a speedy recovery, and recooperates fully.

That's pretty odd. I had bronchitis pretty bad the past 3 winters. Every time on my first trip to the Dr. they did a chest X-ray. Can't believe they waited months.
 
yeah saw this earlier as Viv posted on his facebook...he'll kick cancers ass.
 
One of my fav guitarists from the 80s. Dio/Campbell was just magic for me. Still love Holy Diver/Last In Line albums & the live dvds with Vivian playing with Dio! He is totally shredding that Les Paul at 18-19 years old on a very early live concert filmed just as Holy Diver came out :rock:

Based on his timeline, he will still be receiving chemo while performing with Leppard & then the Last In Line band............

I wish him the best but it sounds from his post that he's going to pull through.
 
Its hard for me to digest thst im of the age that MY heroes are Falling.its one thing to be young and read about Morrison,Joplin,Hendrix etc. but now its the people I admire as opposed to those of another generation.hooe he tecovets fully. Not a DL fan at all but i love his work in Dio!! Other than killing the dragon, holy diver and last in line are IMO, Dios best work.
 
Scary stuff, and lymphoma is no walk in the park. It nearly took my Dad.
