What are your thoughts guys? If you had a Marshall head to send for a mod, who would you utilize and why?

I personally would choose Dave Friedman because I like his Brown Eye voicing and how he preserves the rawness of the amp's original tone. It still sounds like a Marshall when he's done with it, just a better one IMO.

I'll second that, Dave's mods are great sounding. All of the FJA clips I've heard sound awesome as well.

I'm not sure if Mike Fortin is still doing mods, but if he is he would be my first choice. His mods just seem to be more up my alley than Friedman's. They seem more over the top gain wise imho.

I like what I hear with the friedman stuff alot. I also like the FJA stuff alot. Every FJA modded amp ive played thru has been awesome

Voodoo amps Jose HG Mod. Trace did my 1987x and it turned out great.

I have a VRock combo from Voodoo. It sounds great through a cabinet, and if you close your eyes you would swear it was a modded Marshall. Someday I would like to mod it into a head vs a 1X12. Trace is a great guy and does awesome work.
