I've been trying to contact Voodoo for over a week to arrange to get the Platinum mod done on my JMP-1 but had no replies.
Are they still in business ????
I recently discovered that not only do they have a UK facility but that it's only 5 miles from me.. incredible.
I've spoken to the guy about the mod but it has to be arranged via the USA.
He's also tried contacting them with no success.

Very frustrating.

Can anyone help ????

Trace is a good guy, and he will get back to you. He is probably out of town right now.

I have had two amps modded by Trace and he is a great guy to deal with. I can't speak for him but in my experience he is frequently away from the shop on the road and during those times his response may be slower. That said, he WILL get back to you and once you get him on the phone he is truly a pleasure to deal with.......not to mention he'll talk your ear off!

Are you trying to tell me that the entire operation is just one guy ?
Noone even there to answer an email ?
I find that hard to believe but also fairly worrying in relation to any warranty issues, should they arise.
Due to the time difference a phone conversation is impossible.

No, Trace is merely the owner / head tech, at Voodoo Amps. He calls the shots, and nothing happens without his approval, so that if there is an issue HE deals with it due to accountibility.

If the boss is out of town, had death in family, etc, then Voodoo HQ may take a week long break or something. Who knows, maybe he and all of his employees decided to close for 2 weeks to take a vacation. HE WILL RESPOND WHEN HE CAN, YOU CAN RELY ON THAT.

Try dealing with one of the other popular amp modders (one in particular), and you will understand why Trace is one of the good guys.

It is that way with most of the boutique builder & people that do modification. Most are one person or just a few people working in a very small shop. As far as warranty & communication goes - often it is worse with the larger company's. It is what it is.... :)

Nice to hear you guys have confidence.
An ' out of town ' automated reply or something might have been nice rather than silence though.
Even the UK guy thinks its strange.
This is a mod I've wanted for years so if you guys don't think anything is wrong, I can relax and wait.
Thank you.

Trace will get back to you...He always does. They do good work, and he's a great guy. I had a Platinum mod 5150 II with an upgraded transformer that sounded unbearably good. Still regret selling that head...Bad mistake.

I don't mean to be a dick, but there is that thing called the smart phone, where you check you mails on the road....;-)

My thoughts exactly.

Seems a strange way to conduct business in the modern world of easy communication.

We are by no means going out of business, point of fact we are expanding into a larger facility. We have five (5) full time employees and we will be looking to hire another experienced tech in August.

Emails & Phone Calls As per the contact page of our website; "Please note: We receive 75-100 Emails a day. If you do not hear back within two (2) days or if you need an immediate response please call us at (607) 256-0465 Mon-Fri 9am-5pm EST (NY time). Over Seas Customers - You can call or message us on Skype. Our screen name is "Voodoo Amps." (Skype is free of charge)

We check and reply to emails daily. Please list your first / last name and your email address and I will personally look for your email(s).

UK Shop – This is a satellite shop that presently performs a select number of Modifications. We are in the process of documenting several Mods so that the UK Shop can slowly begin to offer more Modifications. As I design all Modifications I want to ensure that everything is properly documented so the Mods are done exactly as we do them here. This is meticulous and takes time as several amps have multiple revisions and the Mods vary depending on the revisions. IE: Each revision requires stock schematics & schematics containing the Mods, taking / editing numerous photos, gathering the proper components and/or transformers and shipping them to the UK, etc.

Please feel free to call me at the shop at 607-256-0465 or call me via Skype.

Edit - I have looked for an email relating to the UK Mod Shop and I do not see any. It seems we are not getting your emails? Please call us and we will work out the details :)

Many thanks

Come on Trace, you know that voice communications are for suckers and that every business should be using email as if it were instant messaging.

You always make me laugh Bob and it was great to see you at the LA Amp Show! :) I arrive at the shop at 7am each morning and reply to emails until around 9am. This includes my email, emails on social networking sites and I usually check emails again as I am eating lunch. I always reply to all emails I receive, I just wish I was a faster typer! (lol)

Have a great morning Bob!! :)

Always a pleasure, Trace! You coming to the LA amp show again this year?

Being good at typing definitely helps out. I do somewhere between 55-75 depending on the time of day, weather, my mood and what online typing test I use.

You have a great one too.

Very cool, looking forward to seeing you again. We'll have to grab a beer this time around.

Thank you for coming in here to help.
Anthony from the UK shop says he's also emailed you.
My name is Mark Overfield , mark@overfield5150.fslife.co.uk

I'm looking to order the plat mod for my JMP-1.

Anthony says he's done a few and he's really impressed with the result.

Problem with calling is the time difference and costs.

I' glad I never got involved in the music biz dealing with other guitar players! I would have lost my shit within a year. For guys like Trace it must take the patience of a Saint dealing with guitar players. :D
