Do you guys mix dry signal in with the wet cabs or is it just effected signal?

W/D/W means Wet/DRY/Wet. So, yes, there is a dry cab and then either two wet cabs or a stereo cab for wet... Wet cabs are 100% wet and lower in the mix...

The more I read this thread, the more I feel a sharp bout of GAS coming on......

Hoping my new W/D/W rig is done Tues. Congrats on getting the tone you are digging. Always a cool thing. As you can see you are not alone.

Re: My rig-- I have a switchable dry signal that can be patched to the dry cabs, or omitted via Direct Access switch in any patch, or via MIDI preset. Technically I can run WD/D/WD, W/D/W, D/D/D, Stereo, W/D, or Mono.

You're in Ewa Beach, HI???

lol, It happens...

If you want to be space challenged, and have 2 stereo cabs you could run the straight signal to the 2 inside pairs, and run the wet signal to the 2 outside pairs. Not as much separation but it would work in a tight space. In a live setting you could put 1 cab on each side of the drums and get the separation for the wet stuff

I have been eying up cabs and poweramps to go W/D/W lately, damn Christmas getting in the way. doesn't the family know I NEED to get this W/D/W going???

I meant in the wet cabs. If I run effects loop out into a delay then into second amp then into seperate cab does the delay kill the dry signal or is the dry signal mixed in with the delay?

Yup, Ewa Beach.
So which signial path do you favor/recommend? My delay (boss dd3) can eliminate the dry signal when on but when bypassed it let's it through.

Aloha, Rob.

Aloha Rob,

I'm in Wahiawa, near the Botanical gardens.

As far as a recommendation-- I like all the options personally, because at different times my preferences change. Not really helpful huh... If you like we could meet up, and you can try the rig yourself and see if you have a preference.

Thanks for the offer. I'll have to take you up on that one day. Honestly I would'nt have a clue where to even begin with that monster. The only effects I ever used were a wah and the amps reverb, maybe a distortion through a clean amp.
Hopefully santa will bring a nova repeater pedal for me for christmas.

Aloha, Rob.

Bitches... a REAL man would SLAVE those amps together and get on it an RIDE THE GAIN TRAIN!!!!!!!!!!

No worries... I would be there to co-pilot/navigate. It's less daunting than it appears.

Just let me know, when you're feeling adventurous-- The only potential down side (as I've seen happen)-- is that it has been told to me that it's akin to tasting the forbidden fruit. Once you try w/d/w nothing really seems the same again-- of course-- once you actually have to move all the gear, the willingness to consider smaller options can be appealing.

Mentoneman (Pat) said it best, "Big tone is heavy"... and that is mostly accurate.

Funny you say that, I recently found these little 'phone' recorded videos my brother in law snapped of me, oh, 5, 6 years back, running the mark iv thru to the 2:90, slappin the front end w/ the PQ3, and tho the tone qualitys' crap, I can HEAR that thing screaaaaammmming, and it gives me goose bumps!! Stryper on Steroids....      I miss that tone... now that I got the Axe, I COULD put that monster back 2gether..... :scared: but I think Tweed might fly out and punch me in the face....
