Do you guys mix dry signal in with the wet cabs or is it just effected signal?
W/D/W means Wet/DRY/Wet. So, yes, there is a dry cab and then either two wet cabs or a stereo cab for wet...

Steve
I meant in the wet cabs. If I run effects loop out into a delay then into second amp then into seperate cab does the delay kill the dry signal or is the dry signal mixed in with the delay?
I run my wet cabs 100% wet and have no dry signal mixed in. All the dry I need is in my dry cab. I set my effects 100% wet...

You're welcome to swing by anytime you're in the OC... Vic and I messed with it when he was here a couple weeks ago and dialed it in real nice!

Yeah, let's figure something out!

He dug 'em both, I think. We did some serious "Vic tweaking" on both the eggie w/d/w setup and my main heavy rhythm patch just using the Axe. Got everything sounding great! Vic was using the Axe editor on my Mac to change transformer setting, everything... was a fun hang!

did he have any comments on the realism of the virtual components?

did he look over your amp?

Tell me you guys refined a brown patch!

Yes - he was impressed for sure. Actually, some of the parametters worked the opposite of what he intuitively wanted to do with the dial, but once he saw how the virtual control reacted, I think he was impressed with how well they worked. For sure, the transformer tweaks worked the way he expected them to...

If by my amp, you mean the one I'm building, Vic has been following my progress for awhile now and has been impressed with where I'm going with it and has even suggested that we do something jointly on this... More to come...

On the Eggie, he only tweaked controls while I played to get it into "Vicsville". :D I have to admit, when he left, I was playing the Eggie W/D/W rig cranked up for hours with a big smile on my face. He definitely got it singing with some weird settings (Treble is off!?) that sound phenomenal. Also dialed out some of the congestion from how I had the delays set on my micropitchshiting. Sounds mean - more 80s metal than VH though - gainier tones...

mentoneman":bvrky03e said:

Nah - we left the brown alone. I've taken that avenue as far as I intend to go as far as the Axe with the VHII patch I already have... I'm in a gainier mode these days, unless I plug into my little Princeton Reverb clone... My amp WILL be tweaked for the VH II tone in the "PLEX" mode, so I'll be revisting EVH land for those clips when the amp is ready...

We just tweaked a nice rhythm preset I had. Honestly now, this patch sounds almost identical to my Eggie W/D/W rig when I switch the micropitchshifting on. Patch sounds amazing... If you come by during NAMM week, you'll hear it all...
