You can adjust the effect cut-off time on the Morleys with an internal trimpot. At minimum it's still not instantaneous but it's better than stock.

535 is versatile and a great all arounder that covers a lot of ground. If you're going for a really pronounced, sweet vocal sound look at RMC and Wilson or maybe the Crybaby McCoy.

The Morleys (Tremonti and Bad Horsie) have more of a screamy top end quality and a bigger sweep than most others I've played but can sound flat and kind of harsh on clean stuff compared compared to the crybaby. My favorite sig Crybabies are Cantrell and Zakk Wylde. Petrucci and Xotic XW are next for me.

I used to have a Bad Horsie 2 but think I got a bad one. When I was gigging and hit it, I got so much noise!! It sounded like a plane taking off. :)

I went with the Dunlop 95q after countless issues engaging/disengaging the switch on my Original Dunlop. Step on it and go...no toe down to engage a switch. Sounds great, works great...perfect for me in a live setting.

Dunlop used to mod wahs to be switchless, but I think they stopped. The Billy Duffy is the only one they currently sell that's switchless, if I'm not mistaken. The Petrucci looks like it'd be the one to get if you want tweakable. BTW, here's a list of Dunlop's products and if they're true bypass, buffered, etc.

I recently started getting into way pedals, and after trying a few different types, I found myself going back to my Cry Babys, but there was always something that just didn't feel right, so I got into modding them, and I couldn't be happier!

I started with the true bypass mod, and then added an LED, just because I could. Tonality-wise, I added a selector switch that will allow me to voice the wah to match the standard GCB-95, Wylde wah, Cantrell wah, VH wah, Adam Jones' wah, and everything in between. Then I added a pot to adjust the Q setting, as well as pots for the mid control, gain control, and an adjustment for the treble response like the Cantrell wah. After all these changes, I can literally get any type of tone I want.

Here's a pic of the cleaned-up completed product...

After my first modded wah, I left this on my pedal board, and I started looking for other wahs, and found an old Thomas Organ Wah, which I've left one stock. Here's the other wahs...

I really like the Dunlop Dimebag one. You have so many opptions on that one it feels like you can't go wrong...

I borrowed a Dime one when my 535Q was being fixed and I thought it was killer, except for the paintjob!!!

How do you like the Rotovibe? I was looking at them the other day and deja vibe/mxr vibe etc. I like the idea of controlling the Rotovibe speed

Had no idea Dunlop would mod to switchless! I saw that Duffy one, pretty cool.

Currently using CAE.

I just shot an email to "artist relations" and asked for an auto on 535Q and they sent me an invoice. Received it about a week later. Now, this was 2 years ago so things may have changed.

The Original Crybaby! still stands strong over here.. Although i have to admit the Cantrell has my eye wandering at the moment.

That Dual LED MOD is sweet though.. I was at the jam pad a week ago after a pickup swap and was really fighting with the tone and squeel, i was totally thining it was the new PUP. After about two minutes of tweaking I stepped over and clicked the wah off! DUH.. lol, those LED's wouldve been handy then for sure!

I've been building my own for quite a while. Built a few for a few guys here a couple of years ago too. Here's a few I just did:

Area51 that beat out Dunlop,Xotics,Teese,Fulltone..

I got a loaded Area 51 from when they first came out. Great wah, but Teese RMC-10 is AS killer, IMO. I even like the switchless Dunlop.
Another Jimi- style wah is the Chase Tone Gypsy wah, killer and I got a Chicago Iron Parachute wah
