Hi,

I am a huge Wampler fan (incl. the chasing tone vids) and own several of their pedals.
I recently bought the velvet fuzz and I am struggling a little bit to get "decent sounds"
I would appreciate if you give me some advice.

I have the following amps available (mesa boogie mark 5 90 watts, marshall 1959 sl plexi, fender drri 65). On the guitar front I have a std. strat, std. tele and std. les paul to choose from.

What set-up would you recommend (amp, pedal setting, amp drive) to get tones similar to: Eric Johson, Josh Homme, David Gilmour.

Appreciate your feedback.

Best

Wampler Pedals Tone Group on FaceBook is the perfect place for this question! I'll look and see if I can find you a quick answer

do not know that fuzz all that well, but have you considered stacking a medium overdrive or amp-in-box pedal after it?

Venuram, or equivalent? My assumption is you are using a clean amp here, or crunchy marshall.

I run a Berkos into an Xact Tone Solutions Iridium Fuzz (not really a fuzz per say) and it kicks proper ass tonewise on a clean crunchy platform.

I guess you could add other ODs and boosts in there to shape the freq and thickness more.

I believe there are some articles out on the web regarding this technique with more choices than mentioned here. What I like about the technique is you can get a unique sound tailored to your style instead of sounding like "some guy" that sounds like he is playing through a given amp signature. EJ is a typical example
