War of the wahs!

Have a 535Q and it gets the job done for me as I am not really a wah snob.

If I was though the Chicago Iron parachute would be my choice, just a nasty sounding wah.
 
IMO it doesnt get any better than the Dunlop DCR-1SR Rack wah. That thing can sound nice or totally fkn obnoxious!!! :rock:

Unfortunately i dont have one.. but i use the Dunlop CFH DB-01 wah and get fantastic results! I'l be using it again for gigging soon, as its built like a tank and is very reliable. Doesnt eat up batteries too badly either!

Yeah, it was a decent wah. I mostly used it for classic rock style playing. It didn't do the high gain thing to well. I had borrowed a Teese Wizard and that was really good for higher gain playing. I didn't get to delve too deep into it's versatility, though. The Budda was great all around. I really dug that with my setup. The dark horse for me, though, was the Morley Tremonti....suprisingly thick and vowely with a high gain set up. I was really surprised. Yes, it sucked some tone. However, a few tweaks to the amp's tone stack fixed that.
 
I can't speak from experience, but I've heard nothing but praises for the SilverMachine Wah. It's supposedly more "modern" sounding and really holds up under high gain really well, but in general is supposed to be killer.
 
I've heard good things on the new slash wah from dunlop, any opinions?
 
right now I'd have to say Budda wah because of the true bypass.

Im digging the Teese Picture wah with my Les Paul lately. Its get a very "Slash" (vocal) sound.

Ive always like the Vox Clyde McCoy too. I really want to check out the Area 51 wah.
 
Crybabys are pretty renowned for their sound, but i have heard bashes, why?
 
It all depends on what you are looking to spend and what you like( like anything else)

I think that I may have tried them all except for several( Area 51, HBE, MJM and possibly a few others ) but I was never a fan of the Bud Wah( which surprised me becuase I love everything else Budda Makes) I like the Fulltone Clyde but not the deluxe. Im not a fan of ANYTHING that morely has to offer. I didnt like the Automagic silver Machine that I tried and none of the Snarling dogs either. Ive heard mixed reviews on the Ibanez weeping demon but never tried it and it has some cool features..

I LOVE my DCR-2SR Dunlop rack wah to death and I love my modded Vox v847. The 535Q wasnt bad at all. For me, I like a really vocal, in your face wah and the dunlop rack wah does that for me in spades. Honestly, its alot of kwan to drop on a wah, no doubt about it but I love the sound and I love the way that its cleaned up my rig( no signal out to the pedal board, it all stays back in the rack)

Go to GC dude and try them all, even the ones that people dislike. they have a pretty good selection, even some boutique ones depending on where you go. Your ears will decide for you in the end..
 
The Fulltone Clyde Deluxe is one I want to try! I also love the sound samples of the Wilson wahs! I like wahs with the ability to boost volume. Would love to give the Wizard another spin.

What is the MJM wah???

Heck, maybe I'll have my Budda modded!
 
I have tried lots of the mid priced wahs, and so far, the keeper for me is the Wylde wah.

Real McCoy (Teese) RMC3 can cop anything out there. Goes from vowel and yowl to yoodle, all depending on how you spin the trim pots. New Karmaflux inductor takes a very vintage pedal and makes it really usable in a HI-gain situation. Check 'em out. The Silvermachine Mk2 and Fulltone Clyde Deluxe also rox my board as well.
