Warehouse British Lead 80

I was thinking about mixing a celestion classic lead 80 with my V30 in my 212 cabs. What are the opinions on the Warehouse British Lead 80 version? I hear good things about the warehouse veteran 30 but don't hear much about their classic lead 80 clone.

I had a couple that I traded for a Super V a few years ago. I liked the 80's better. From what I can remember, I think that a Warehouse 80 would work well with a V30. If nothing else, it's not too expensive to try out.

I bought my 80's new and I remember them needing a pretty good break in period. A little stiff out of the box.

It was a nice speaker, fairly neutral sounding and handled power well. No for me in the end, I like speakers with more personality.

i've compared the British Lead and the CL80 pretty extensively--even ran one of each in the same 2x12.

through my Mark V and in a vertical medium-size 2x12, the British Lead was a bit smoother in the highs, with less bite than the CL80, but very similar in the mids and lows--they both had that neutral CL80 type of sound that moltenmetalburn mentioned. the British Lead also might be lower efficiency than the CL80, because the CL80 sounded a bit louder at the same volume level.

since IIRC the Veteran 30 has less upper-mid spike than the V30, it might pair really well with the British Lead because that too has less highs. but maybe not a good pairing with a dark amp or in a dark cab.

I recently picked up two BL80's. They have this great clarity at high volume and high gain. I think they really excel at high volumes, especially when it comes to detailed articulation with single notes and very tight lowend response.
I have them in a 2x12 cab that I pair with a Mesa V30 4x12. They work really nicely together IMO.
