I’m a greenback fan

i also have a cream back, & a Lynch back, and enjoy both.

In the past, ive parted with vintage 30s made from the 90’s up till a Friedman 2x12 a couple years ago. Really dislike that speaker, could never bond with it.

I have a v30 / greenback mixed 4x12 and can work with that at times, though it’s never my go to.

Anyways, I don’t need another cab, but have an opportunity to buy a match for my sl67 with warehouse v30’s. I could easily pass, anyone with any experience willing to chime in, let me know ??

Thanks

I hate that speaker. Fine at very low volume, but blurry and all mids when loud. There’s a reason why the V30 works for certain applications……no need to “fix” it. Coming from someone who doesn’t like v30’s. But they definitely have their place.

I have read enough mixed reviews about the Veteran 30 that I would really want to audition them at volume before making a purchasing decision. Many similar comments that they sound good at low to moderate volumes, but don’t hold together at higher volumes.

There is something really 3-D about the M-65 Creamback V-30 mix. The Creamback sounds a little flat alone, but has nice lows and low mids. And V-30s can be too much by themselves. X them in a 4x12 and they really fill in the gaps that each speaker alone leaves behind.

That's tough! I am not a fan of their Vet 30 on its own. I have had a couple in a few different cabs and they definitely have a sound that is going to be love/hate solo. Mixed is a totally different beast it seems though! I have a 2x12 with Panama Purple back ( rebranded WGS Invader 50) and Vet 30 mixed together and it sounds freaking massive! The bass and high end extension are killer. I have cranked this setup and it just rocks. When I say 'cranked', I mean a 25w tube amp shot up close to 10. This same amp seems louder than my old 40w.

So, it may work for you, may not. Some people are referring to running 100W tube heads cranked, and yeah, if you're going to do that, uncertain of how these will be for you but for anything that is a normal-loud show level, they have always held up fine.

Again, just Vet 30s? No. Never. In a mix? They add some fatness that cannot be ignored. Good luck!

Man I really appreciate it. I’ve got four speaker cabinets and don’t need another one. It was mostly a purchase to match a head and I don’t need to do that!
