Warmoth vs Fender strat body

Has anyone compared these two? Any noticeable differences?

Got a respond from Warmoth that their strat bodies have a 1/2" edge radius meanwhile a standard strat has a 7/16". This would mean that the Warmoth body actually has even smoother/rounder edge radius and contour which would be amazing.

If the rest of the shape differs a bit from a Fender one. That's not too bad, as long as the edge radius is not sharper than the 7/16". :D

Honestly I wouldn't be able to tell a difference. (I have a Warmoth Strat body attached to an Allparts neck and it's become my #1 for the group I'm playing with now).

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Warmoth.

I've been stalking the Warmoth site for this week considering my first parts build. Subscribed

1/16 difference is not that noticeable, but it keeps them free of lawsuit I guess.

Their stuff is top notch! I used one of their necks on a custom build and it's great!

I have an Allparts body attached to a Warmoth neck :D And it's my number one. I have other good guitars, but it's so comfortable. The neck is a solid rosewood neck with an ebony board, and it's smoooooooooth.

related but kind of hi jacky:
Anybody get the unfinished neck from Warmoth? They warn against it as it could be more prone to twisting, but then those EVH necks are unfinished and they're amazing and rock solid.

I'm leaning towards a 24.75 conversion neck, definitely Wolfgang shape, perhaps scalloped above the 12th fret and not sure on the fretboard- likely Ebony (though I would enjoy something exotic like pale moon but not sure if any of their options have that cool streakiness).

Strat body, maybe have it routed traditional and use a Rail Tail...or Floyd.

Doesn't Warmoth offer a oil finish? I have a oil finish on my Musikraft neck and it's the best!

I bought a finished one (actually 2 over the years) and hated the feel so I had the finish sanded off (just the back of neck) and a light oil finish. Love it.

I also bought an unfinished Musikraft neck and finished it myself with Tru Oil. Love that one too (<---avatar).

They're just covering their ass, I say get it raw and oil it yourself.

I have one with roasted maple and it's super comfortable. 22 frets, compound radius, reverse angled headstock, abalone dot inlays and SS extra tall frets.

I did - maple neck with an ebony board. Finished it myself with tru-oil and then gunstock wax and it came out fucking awesome

Here's my full Warmoth build:

I got an unfinished neck from them that I finished with oil. A warning against using oil is burned into the heel, an oil finish voids the warranty. I took my chances. I've only had the guitar a month so I can't speak to long term repercussions but it plays great. Wolfgang profile, 6100 stainless steel frets, 10-16" radius. The finish just sets it off, zero friction in the palm.

My whole build was Warmoth and it came together super easy.

Damn that's a beauty! Have you compared that strat body to a fender one?

Thanks. I don't have a Fender Strat body to compare it to unfortunately.

That is sweet!
You dig that Wolfgang neck? That's what I am shooting for.
Also, tone knob but no volume?

I love the neck. It feels how a good neck should, which is that I don't notice it. It fills my hand while still being out of the way.

And the tone knob is just an Eddie thing. Frankie had a volume pot with a tone knob. To me it makes more sense anyway, because I use the volume knob to change my tone between clean and dirty.

I bought a Warmoth neck 26 years ago, unfinished. Never put oil or nothing on it. Just played the shit out of it and drug it up and down the east coast in the band truck.

Still got it. It's still straight. Along with 2 or 3 other unfinished Warmoth necks.

It may be luck, but I prefer the feel and it's worked out for me.

Bodies are different, but not radically so. I don’t care for the larger round over/edge radius but that is a personal preference. The angle of the forearm contour is also different from Fender, being rotated towards the horizontal.
