I always thought he was a great player that should of been doing more than Ratt.

DiMartini and Crosby was one hell of a guitar duo.

great riffs, great solos, great harmonies, etc.

Too bad Stephen Pearcy is such a piss-poor singer.

I sure like Ratt songs though

I think most of the Ratt tunes are very cool, it's just that they always sucked live.

I thought Ratt sucked for the most part. I like half the tunes on Out Of The Cellar but right after Lay It Down, they were done. You know they were finished when they cheesed out with Way Cool Jr. I really can't put up with the singing, he's just awful. I often hit fast forward just to hear the solos.

Warren's great! His signature Charvel with crossed-swords paint is hawt! :inlove: Too bad it's overpriced as hell...

Before I get flamed, I like Warren....in a good band with a horrible singer, but a great player, with tasty chops. That being said, I always felt he borrowed LIBERALLY from George Lynch....I know they were friends, and Warren picked up a lot of George's techniques, vibrato, etc. While I like Warren, he's always been George-Lite to me. I haven't found too many of his solos as memorable as Georges, especially stuff off of Under Lock and Key/ Toof & Nail

That dude lost his chops after IOYP if you ask me. The stuff before that is killer and I always thought he was a great guitarist. Just wonder where his chops went?

The chops are back in the 80's archive along with all the others

I much prefer Warren's smoother, tastier, bluesier leads over George's stuff. Warren has much more emotion/feeling in his leads in my opinion.

I've been a big fan of Warren since I first heard Ratt.

Chris

I'll give you bluesier, but not tastier. And I never heard really any "inspiring" solos like Lynch's: The Hunter, In My Dreams, Tooth and Nail, Jaded Heart, etc

He did borrow liberally from Lynch IMO, even his "splayed picking hand" technique (back then at least) was similar to George's :)

IMO Warren did not have the liberties that Lynch had in the studio, Dokken was as much Lynch as Don the homo but Warren did not have the same pull to make a Ratt/warren cd.

That said Warren still brings it. Notice all the slingers wear their guitars at the right height?? ;)

Yeah....Ratt sucked live though

We can all thank Mr. Pearcy for that.

I remember Yngwie commenting on how Stephen Pearcy sucked and shoulda been a plumber. lol....crazy Swede

Both Warren and Lynch would be truly great....if it weren't for those Floyd sucking tone. ;)

Pearcy alone killed the Gay Pirate look

I'm a big fan of Warren and George. I think that after Invasion, Warren really consciously tried to change the way he sounded and be more bluesy. That's when he started going on and on about being a huge Joe Perry fan. Yeah right Warren. I would say the reality is you were a huge Eddie and George fan but got tired of the comparisons and decided to change your style.

Warrens style then became really swingy with such a cool feel, but I wish he would have kept the more interesting scalar notes as opposed to becoming more pentatonic and blues note influenced. The best would have been a combo of note choices, but I feel Warren went too far the other way.

Another thing is George played so many notes, on so many solos, on so many albums, with Dokken, with Lynch Mob, and solo and on several instructional videos that we all have a full careers worth of work from George. Warren on the other hand played shorter solos, had to share some solos and had to give some solos to Crosby. Ratt didn't record as many albums as Dokken and Warren recorded only one solo album that was very weak. He seems like he is musically pretty lazy. I always heard he and Juan and Blotzer all put there money away and he still doesn't need to work.

I wish Warren would record a full solo album that is just an all out Warren guitar orgy!

My favorite Guitar playing from Warren is actually from the 'Detonater' Cd...it's mature sounding and really tasteful. I don't even listen to Ratt lyrics or vocals...too disturbing for my ears.
