Hey Guys,

Currently I have a Godwood in the bridge of my Les Paul and although I love this pickup (and I feel like it sounds like 'me') I'm really digging MCP's.

I'm gunning for an Eddie sort of thing and I'm particualry interested in the 2nd Degree BB but what do you
guys reconmmend if I plan on eventually loading a pair of which ever MCP into my Mockingbird (phase and coil taps and Floyd) and I need some that will help add some low end to the guitar.

Have you guys compared the Godwood to the 2nd Degree Black Belts?

I intend on keeping the Godwood in my Paul it's just that between two axes I want things to sound close and not too distant so it doesn't alter my rig too much.

Thanks Guys!

Try the WCR Darkburst!!

I've been thinking about that for awhile. Have you compared any MCP's to the Godwood or any other WCR?

I may just have to pull the trigger and swap them in and out to settle on which one I dig more.

I had a set of Afwayu's, I liked the neck but felt like the bridge was a little loose and muddy. Ive had quite a few of Jim's pickup's and I like the Darkburst best. It's in the hotter PAF territory. I actually have a set waiting to go in a Les Paul I'm having built now.

Tightness is something I was worried about. I love that Godwood though. Maybe a Darkburst with 4 conn wiring so I can use it in my Mockingbird and Les Paul would be best.

Thanks!

the 2nd degree black belt is amazing, but what you're looking for is the BKP VHII

my favorite pickup -

Really depends on the guitar. Great results with the Dark Burst and an MCP Blister Bucker as well.

You're killing me with that new build. I want it so badly

As far as BKP are concerned, I never quite geled with them. Maybe it had something to do with the guitars I was loading them into (wood/pickup ratio). I installed a Mule set into a customer's R8 Historic LP and for some reason nothing clicked. Not to say the pickups sound bad, it's just that the overtones are so rich and complex that it's overpowering. Another was an 80's Mockingbird and it brought out EVERYTHING in that thing once I threw a set of Nailbombs in it. I'm willing to try the VHII or the Black Dog because those sound like what I'm looking for.

Thanks again guys!
