Really wanting to throw a set of WCR "Godwoods" into one of my Pauls.
What are people's opinions versus Fralin's?

Fralins are really clear and bell-like. The high-output humbucker is a very nice, midrangey pickup that holds together pretty well with a lot of distortion and sounds pretty good clean. WCR's (my only experience is the Godwood pickup) are just freaking juicy sounding, full, thick pickups that sound alive.

I think they're both incredible pickups, neither one better than the other. It depends on what you're going to play with them and what guitar they're going in.

I have two Les Pauls with stock 57's and Burstbuckers and have thought about replacing them with both of these pickups which is how I came to compare them both. I'm somewhat satisfied with the Gibson pickups so I haven't had the motivation to spend the money to replace them. If I did, I'd put a Godwood in one and a Lindy Fralin high-output humbucker in the other. No kidding, that's exactly what I'd do.

If I didn't go with either of those, I'd probably end up putting a Dimarzio PAF36th set in both of them.

WCR's No contest!!!! Godwood/Darkburst combo!!!!!

Is the godwood pretty tight and whatnot for metal and such? What about the Darkburst? If not, what would some of you recommend from WCR for tight metal?

+1000

Also, the Godwoods in a Les Paul sound HUGE! I've got a Godwood in one of my personal Les Paul's and it rules.

Wow,
Thanks for all the replies guys. Looks like I can't go wrong with either, but that WCR seems to be the favorite here.
I'm gonna slap a set in a black paul I have and go for it!.

Thanks for your opinions

The Godwood bridge is probably the single pickup i've heard the most positive comments about, Fralins are also very nice as well, just different flavors. They both use different types of wire and Lindy always puts Alnico IV magnets in his humbuckers. That said, I really miss my Godwood. :(
