Well at least repairs are still free (right?). And do you keep your 360 on the carpet? That really screwed mine up and gave me the ring awhile ago.

And, I'll be up for gears tonight.

What's your gamertag?

Yeah it has the 1 year manufacturer warranty still.

Otherwise I would have made a trip to the Circuit City today and picked up another!

How does that work?
You have to call it in and then ship it out to them?

Yeah...

You call 1-800-4My-Xbox.

I think they send you a box to ship it back in too, but I'm not positive.

When my xbox died i just called up their support number, gave them my serial number and shipped a box out to me to ship it to them in. It took about a week and a half and then i got it back. Not to shabby.

I'm curious what the reliability rate on 360s is. It seems frighteningly poor.

Yeah I heard someone on Xbox-Scene say it took a week for them to get theirs back..

Everyone else, people who didn't know form 1st hand experience maybe, were saying 4 weeks.

I'll give them a call tomorrow... hopefully I'll be playing again next week!

I just wonder...
Do they fix YOUR xbox, or send you a new one?

I wouldn't mind getting one of the new ones with the 'quieter' BenQ drives in it. RB6 = the dvd drive is loud the WHOLE time because it spins non stop the whole time.

I have had a total of 12 failed sony video game units. 3 playstations, 4 playstation 2's, 1 PS2, and 3 psp's.

My original xbox from when they first came out is 100% in tact and never let me down. I have also put quite a bit of mialage on my 360 since I got it and have absolutely no problems at all. The first batch of xbox's had some manufacturing defects which they did not recall, but they are fixing on a one unit basis. If you look at the back of it near the serial code there is a date. Supposedly the ones after march 06 are the ones that don't have the manu defect anymore.

They gave me a "newer" one. It was a refurb however.
I had my 360 since launch in 2005 and never had a hitch. It locked up once after 14 months and died right after. So i had a good run outta my original. :D

I sent mine out on a thursday and got it back on tuesday, I THINK they fix your xbox, but I'm not positive. Maybe you should break your 360 beyond repair and have them send back a new one

and I'm not sure if I will play tonight. I jacked my knee up pretty bad and I am back on crutches. I might just go to sleep.

So they send you a box to ship it to them in... Do they cover the actual shipping cost or do we?
