Just found this, best live metal performance I have seen in quite some time.

Rectos, which many here call doorstops, and AxeFx being used and the sound is huge. Cutting like a mother.

Awesome Europeon crowd, notice the lack of video cameras and in total focus of the band.

I am glad that Devin is in a happy place and has learned to forget the past and move to his future, a future without SYL because that was a huge weight on his shoulders.

The dude is just a monster musician. Would love to see a Natas in his studio.

I enjoyed this. This is the guy that got his start with Vai right? I saw this guy when he was a kid with Vai. Cant remember the disc, but yea in a smaller club in Detroit.

Man..... Thanks for posting this. I'll admit I'm not a huge fan, but I caught myself smiling halfway through that...... And that's rare for me! Everything about that I loved. The crowd, the way it was filmed, the tone, the writing. Win!

Yeah man, Cliff Cultreri of Relativity records put Devin with Vai for the Sex and Religion Album.

Very cool you saw the same thing I did, coming hard and having a great time doing it with the crowd feeding off of his energy

DT never fails to deliver. this is a sweet deadhead vid for sure. i love it when he plays "by your command" live because he always changes the lyrics a little bit. crazy kid.

I've got DTP running on my iTunes right now as I type. He is probably one of the most overlooked guitarists around. Never got to see them (SYL) live, but the DTP makes me want to put the hammer down!

Pardon the unintentional rhyme....

Dude, that video kills
Hope I can check them out soon, never got a chance to see SYL :aww:

I absolutely love Devin Townsend. My top 2 favorite artists of all time, period! Devin is such an amazing guitarist, vocalist, producer, composer, etc...I absolutely love Devin!

That first vid was rich man... Totally fuckin rich

Loved it. I've crossed paths with DT a few times - I think he or one of his crew bought an Uber TJ off me some time ago. Didn't really recognize who he was at the time, until someone made a POINT of saying "Dude, that's Devin Townsend, as in THE Devin Townsend...!!" and I was oblivious. I just wanted to unload the amp

Peace, awesome post

Dude is a Monster, HIGHLY underrated, #3 in my alltime favorite musicians behind Dimebag and Gary Holt. ;)

Again I can't express just how big of a Devin fan I am. Thus, I had to post this, one of my favorite Devy tunes, "Away" one of the coolest 99% instrumental tracks ever. He one-taked (first take) this one in the studio according to all the post-interviews.

That was amazing! Devin is one of my heroes! I don't think he is underrated, just very deep and a super creative and emotional artist thinking at a different level than most. Most people are not fucked up enough for his music.  Or they're just shallow idiots with no attention span who love Nickelback because it "has a good beat". :D

Good post...love that tune...I believe it's off Accelerated Evolution?

The single most talented person in all of music IMO, bar none. He's like a one-man, heavy metal Beatles.

I love Devy but I wish he would do one more tour with SYL because I didn't get into them until this past year. I love that album Alien, it's so intense. I usually hate this vocal style but he does it soo much better than all the pretenders out there.

Don't know how I missed this vid but this is quite literally my favorite Devin tune ever. I would even say it is in my top 5 favorite tunes period. Talk about a guy that can record music with so many layers and tracks yet maintain an airy open feel is beyond me. Thanks for posting Scott!

I agree, I would love to hear what he could do with a Natas.

I would listen to his solo material over SYL but I love the energy he creates in performances like this one. He has the house rocking at 1:36 of this vid.
