Like i said my Bias rite is giving false reading all over the place.

I have read online that people have been having problems with them.

What do you yours feel would be the best replacement? Another Bias rite or something different?

Thanks

I have a Bias Tool, plugs into your multimeter. 30 bucks on eBay. There are a few different sellers, haven't had any issues in 7 years.

I'll check it out, Thanks !

Yup! Just set the multimeter to ma, works well.

Why don't you just have Weber fix it?

Definitely an option. I think, Haven't contacted them yet.

I was just thinking it was old and apparently they are known to have problems so I wanted to see if there was A better option first.

I use to use a multi meter solely, which is dangerous, so I started using the bias rite many years ago. I do know people like the compu bias as well, but I still prefer the bias rite. So I would just have them fix or replace.

I heard of people having problems with them but I've had 2, the first one I sold "at the time I didn't have a tube amp so I didn't need it". So Now I bought a new one and it's fine. Never had an issue.

I use a probe from http://www.amp-head.com. It attaches to your multimeter. Great build quality and works well! The tube adapters feel more robust than the ones on the Bias Rite.

Nice. Thanks for the link.

If I have an amp with a quad of KT88's, should I grab the dual probe?

Eurotubes Pro One is the shit. Self contained, and uses heater voltage to power it up, so it doesn't need batteries. It shows both current and voltage, and you can play the amp with it connected. It's a little more expensive, but I think it's worth it because you don't need a separate meter. You just plug it in and go.

I agree complelty with this. I've had my Pro One for a year and used it a lot with all of my amps. It has been great and is very handy since you can play the amp with it connected and adjust bias. It's been an awesome tool so far! No complaints!

Liking the looks of this ! thanks for the link !

I use the compubias and it works great. While the product is good, once you order you will hear nothing and one day it will show up at your door. Customer service from compubias is sketchy. My last order for some bias probes went this way. They sent some stale tobacco smoke with the bias probes too, so I had to air them out for a while.

LOL, stale tobacco smoke!

At least they could have put some good stuff in there !

The Eurotubes looks nice. Too bad it only has one probe.

I agree. Looks great but with only one probe seems it would be kind of a pain !

Plus they are out of stock !

Definitely allot more dicking around with hot tubes

That eurotubes bias thing looks great. Still, the Weber unit has 4 connectors. You can't beat that.
