I am thinking about picking up a pair of Weber 'Stan spec' speakers. For those who have tried them, what amps/cabs are they best suited for?

I assume they sound somewhat similar to G12H30's or Greenbacks.

My top 3 cabs to put them in are a Vox 212 open back, Marshall 1936 212 copy closed back, or a Mesa metal grill 212 (top open, bottom Thiele)

I would be using the following amps with them.
-Marshall 2553
-'66 Vox AC50
-Mesa mark IV
-Marshall DSL50 (if I decide to buy one)

I've got 4 of them in my Uberkab. I've run a Marshall JMP 2203, Marshall DSL 100, Fargen Olde 800, Mesa T-verb, Naylor Superdrive 60 and a Demeter TGA 2.5 prototype through them and they all sounded great. They're supposed to be going after the Pre-Rola 30 watt speakers. I don't know how similar they are to those because I've never played through the originals. They do have that thick, papery sound happening though. Some people don't like that, but I do.

Aside from that, I really can't tell you much about them. I've only compared them back to back with the V30's in my Recto Standard 4x12. They definitely have more depth per each individual note compared to the V30, which is especially true in the low-mids and mids. They sound huge!

Good Luck! If you get them, I hope you like them.
