Hearing Pat's rig made me have Dave F. put a line out in my little Jet City head.
I should be able to run my wet signal from the line out to my TC repeater to power to speaker(s).
Does that sound right?
yes as long as the jet's line out doesn't overload the tc pedal. set the amp clean, take the line out to the pedal, and send the pedal output to power/speaker.
if the repeats are distorted you're overloading the pedal's input.
i use the hotplate for a few reasons.
1) it allows me to have a variable level control knob on my line out signal, so i can fine tune the signal level going into my fx device, from instrument level ready pedals, which can clip easily if the signal to them is not attenuated, to line level rack gear which expect line level signals.
2) it allows me to open up the power section more which fattens the tone and affords less preamp gain.
3) it has that noise reduction lightbulb circuit which knocks down hiss from the amp.
4) the bright and deep switches are useful at various volumes.
