BKP neck pup, Mesa Single Rec Raw voicing, Orange 2x12 cab.....this is a weird noise, and I don't think it translates well to this vid....sorry about the rushed playing/audio quality, but I just wanted to see if I could grab this noise on my iPhone...it's only on the 2nd-3rd frets on the G/B strings....never heard this from any of my guitars before. Is this normal? It's kind of cool and kind of weird at the same time....the whole guitar vibrates and it's this HUGE frequency shift that shakes the whole room.

There's only two things I can think of.

One is that the pickup wire and the pickup selector wires got reversed. Two is that the new pickup wasn't fully grounded. As far as individual strings; that's wild!

I can hear exactly what you're talking about, even on my laptop speakers....you don't have a wah, do you?
;-)

I don't, not anymore...gave it to a bud for Christmas last year...wigged me out the first time I heard it, but I think it's cool. Was just wondering if anyone knew what it was so if I ever change this setup I could duplicate it. Like I said, I never heard this before, so I don't know if its the pup, or the amp or what...

Wow......only in that setting right?
The Lead channel and Bridge pickup is fine?
I never played too much with the Raw settings....
have to readjust my eq totally.
Since was happy with the lead tone....I never looked outside the box.

Yeah Danno.....Lead and bridge doesn't do it....think it's more compressed....this is vol/100%tone/0%....it still does it with the tone up, but it's a lot more pronounced without it....was trying to find a decent fuzz tone for some blues and this came out....never changed the settings from the lead channel, just flipped to the Raw and up to the neck and started messing around and there it was. Fuckin weird. :D

what guitar?

could be a wiring issue. or a pot starting to burn out.

Could be a tone knob that's gone wrong. I've tried it once.

Break out the bong and rip out some Truckfighters!

I'm actually trying to reproduce that tone!

when I jumped over to the Vintage and raw settings on my amp....just couldnt gel.
I have a neck pickup in my guitar (Single coil) but I dont care for the way it sounds in the amp either.
AS long as that Kick ass Lead tone is there....GOLDEN. :D
