So I was using Herbert the other day and plugged in a 5-pin midi cable, connected it to a Rocktron Midi Mate, and began programming. Thing is, it didn't seem to be accepting my MIDI programming on specific channels.

Example:

Button 1 on the MIDI MATE programmed to CH1--all OK
Button 2 on the MIDI MATE programmed to CH2 no mid cut & Loop engaged--all OK
Button 3 on the MIDI MATE programmed to CH2 w/Mid cut & Loop engaged--would default to CH1
Button 4 on the MIDI MATE programmed to CH3 w/Mid cut & Loop engaged--would do whatever was programmed to button 2.

Same type experiences on channels 5-8. Button 9 on the MIDI MATE would ALWAYS engage the "MUTE" function.

Pressing any button on the MIDI MATE, then pressing the same button again would toggle between the programmed setting and something else apparently random.

Do I perhaps need to reset the Herbert to OMNI mode? Does Herbert require a 7-pin MIDI cable?

Any help input (Especially from Papa) is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

First set the Herbert to omni mode. If that don´t
works try an other midi pedal. If this don´t works,
send an email to peterdiezel (at) diezerlamplification (dot) com
with the serial number of the amp, Your address and
phone number.

Thanks,
Peter

Also make sure that the midi mate isn't set to "controller mode" but instant or whatever that is called . . .

Omni mode was the key-- not sure how the previous owner had her set but she's good to go now. Thanks to all!
