I recently played around with the Afterneath reverb pedal (not saying its weird or obscure but its definitely really cool)

but I don't know terribly too many, I've been doing lots of research lately, but what I'm getting at is if anyone can help or just post your
favorite weird pedal that gives you just an interesting sound that would be fun to play around with to make work in a song.
Or we can just talk about how awesome that pedal is.

I've got a Neunaber Wet Reverb. Gets pretty trippy. Think it's a similar pedal.

I have a friend that used to talk about a pedal of his all the time, it was called the gonkulator modulator, I have no idea what it did, but he said it did some cool yet bizarre sounds???

I don't know what I just watched hah, thank you for that! Would like to find more weird stuff.

I've been heavily considering buying one of these. I just grabbed a cathedral reverb and have been toying with it. With your experience would you recommend it or is it one of those that will get replaced very soon?

I have reverb set pretty subtle, like only just present. My VH4 is pretty dry so it helps to wet the signal up a bit. On low settings it does what I need it to do. When you start cranking the effect, it gets ethereal & infinite. Not looking to switch her out just yet as it's a pretty cool pedal, but I don't use it to full capacity. There's a couple of cool videos on YT about it.

think this is one of the weirdest i owned (and resold)

bitcrushing sonic destruction =)

one of my favourite pedals for messing around is my line6 m9, can chain all sorts of weird things together for cool results,

just have to remember to take photos of settings sometimes... i'm trying to find a sound i made in the studio 2 years ago, with a EQD Organizer .. boss slicer and a boss delay pedal, it's a combination of settings on 3 pedals and finding the right combo is driving me nuts

That's pretty rad. It sounds like Aphex Twin in a pedal.

i'll have to snap a pic of it, but ive got pedal that has a fire siren, tornado, or hurricane, surf wah. wah, and volume pedal- all in one.And the hurricane and siren are very realistic!

I'm excited to see this, that sounds awesome.

Only obscure effect I've owned was Ibanez AD-230.

Here are a few "weird" (though not obscure) pedals:

There are loads of oscillating, ugly sounding fuzz boxes out there too.. Devi Ruiner, Beautiful Disaster, and cool synths like the Pigtronix Mothership or the EHX synths.

Weird pedals:

Digitech Synth Wah
Digitech Whammy DT
EHX Lumberjack
EHX Pog 2
Korg MIku Stomp

I bought this thing in 1985 at a chain store called "the big red note".The wah, vol, hurricane, and especially the siren sound excellent, considering the age of it.

I don't, but could maybe try one..my phone wont hardly cut it though,im saving up for some nice video gear as I want to post some rig and guitar demoing in the future. The siren is a hoot; you step on the switch and just goes up and up until you hit it again and then it comes down just like a firehall siren.its hilarious..we used it on "jailbreak".."firehouse", even riding the storm out- with an octave divider on it...the hurricane has the goods to destroy speaker cabs, kinda like bostons hyperspace pedal- now theres an outer worldly effect to have..lots of folks want it..

The DOD Gonkulator is all over older Incubus recordings. It's a ring modulator--a trashy one at that (in a good or bad way, depending on your point of view). Check out the song Glass by Incubus. That has the Gonkulator all over it.
