Just messin with ya! I've heard some great Rec tones, for sure. One thing about GC is to check the online used section..you can find steals from time to time....

That dude you saw must be the same guy who told you that your Mesa can cop SLO tones....

I said they sound similair and I believe that when you track a old 5150 and recto together they take on the vibe of a slo and check that boosted slo vid go boost a recto and tell me there are not similarities :D

I'm with you on this as are many others who have owned the amp although I think 5150 sounds way closer than a recto and I've owned several 5150's and SLO's and actually still have an SLO...also take into consideration the guy you are responding to has posted multiple times the last couple months that a Fryette Deliverance sounds like an SLO   Now that's funny but not in the least true, never heard anyone else ever say that! I'ts all good

There's always similarities with most amps. But if you ever get to play an SLO up close, dial it in the way you want. Then turn it up...and up...and up some more. THAT'S when you hear the magic. Only way you will know is up close. NOT from clips on the net bro...

Really? I just sold a D60 and I do think there are similarities, at least to my ear. I don't think they are the same BUT the articulation IS similar and you can get a deliverance for a hell of a lot less. I boost my SLO and I do think you can dial in similar tones with a Deliverance. An SLO unboosted, maybe not. But I still think they are similar..a hell of a lot more similar than any 5150 or Rectifier I've heard. There was at least one other post that agreed with me lol...to each their own though.

You talking to me? I've got an SLO, second one had it a couple years...not the greatest clip but I've got a vid of it on my youtube channel. I don't own a Deliverance but have had a Sig X, and still own a UL and CLX and they have great articulation and clarity in common with the SLO but still don't hear much similarity. All great amps but I'm much more digging the Helios right now!

No that post was to the OP. If you get a chance try a D60/120. They are a little more Marshall than the other VHT products, according to guys that have played the others. I tend to go for a Marshally tone so I boost the SLO a bit to get what I want. The D60 got very close to the SLO tone without a boost. But ultimately the SLO bloom is what I missed the most, so I sold a bunch of gear and just got another SLO. But a D60/120 is really a great amp, and for 1K or less a great value. I'm tempted to sell my 79 2204 and grab another Deliverance...

Oh you are so right there was a Gibson custom black on there for 1500 I didn't buy it

Slo VHT Recto whatever those are don't sound nearly as good as the JSX through a marshall cab as its blowing a tube that 5 seconds of tone was magic jkjk

If that post is indicative in any way of where our society is headed in terms of communication skills. We are fucked.

How and why did this thread turn into a pissing match amp to amp? This is a serious subject.

Because its also rig talk :)

I agree it is very serious I used to work in sales/costumer service (MCI) and I sold long distance and something called the Neighborhood. Every now and then someone would call in claiming that they never bought our services usually it was due to a salesmen just pushing any individual through to the the third party verifier thats why MCI had such a bad rap in the early 2000's

I believe that a report should be filed with the BBB about that particular guitar center. It's just not proper business
