Had a crackling issue on a Modern Classic and was not a tube issue (replaced with Winged C and Ruby and JJ Preamp tubes) but to no avail, in fact crackle got worse. Decided to send to Rick @ Wizard for an update in addition to having a tube buffered loop added. Amp was gone for about 6 weeks or so and is finally back. The work is solid and the amp sounds even better than before. Quick vid with crap iPhone, but you get the idea.

There's a whole slew of amps I've never had the pleasure of playing or hearing in person. Diezel and Wizard are two that come to mind.

I love how the custom, hand wired Bogner is tossed on the floor like last week's garbage in the video.....

Wizard rules. :rawk:

Wow, I really like the sound of that amp  . I've always wanted to try one of these in person.

I got this amp in trade earlier this year, wasn't too sure what to expect as there weren't too many demos to my liking. So I said what the heck let me trade and give it a whirl see if I dig it. Sounded fantastic for a couple weeks then amp started making a funky crackling sound that I could hear on clean channel mainly - then it got worse and I decided to send it to Rick to fix. The way it sounded before it started acting up was so good that I decided to pay the $ to get it shipped/fixed/returned. Glad I did - this is the best amp I've ever played through. Not a lot of bells and whistles but it's simple plug in and turn up philosophy is tough to beat.

Yeah, these amps are crushing. I'm DOWN with my MCII. Killer tones!

Wizard amps are really fantastic! curious as to the transparency of the loop??

One of the few amps that I'm still really interested to give a whirl. So are these basically 2555 clones, or is that just a myth/over simplification?

yeah, myth.. I think they are similar in that they use diodes to enhance the overdrive... thats about it though. More gain is available than a stock 2555 and the bandwidth is just bigger overall. Clean channel is a real clean channel...etc

I need to try the loop some day - haha. It can also serve as a volume boost on both channels. Gonna order a 4 button footswitch soon to channel switch, engage boosts and loop.

Finest Marshall "style" amps available...Bar none...Period.

Not sure if mine sounds Marshally or not, but definitely covers that British clean and dirty and way . I don't like Marshalls but I like Wizards.
