Well, I just took it in the ass on a deal

bought a couple of Randall MTS modules. Put in the body of my paypal letter (where the notes to the buyer goes) my new address. However, I did fuck up and left my 'old' address on there accidentally. So paypal shows the old address, but my email states please ship to my new address.

Default addy shows up on the paypal letter to the seller, he doesn't read my message, ships to default addy, package gets shipped there, some dirtdick motherfucker steals my package. I have a delivery confirmation from USPS that it was delivered yesterday and a handful of fuck-all in the other.

Yay, a $275 lesson. I have a lot of nice gear and in the big picture, it's not going to kill me but I work my ass off for what I have and I am irritated beyond belief. I'm about ready to take the day off work, put an empty tv box or something on the porch of my old place and ring somebody's fucking bell when they steal it.

I buy and sell enough that in the grand scheme of things I've been lucky, but it still sucks. I could have found several better ways to spend $275.

Sorry to hear that! Keep your eye on Craigslist in that area!

Yeah, if I see it listed I'm going to go meet them with my louisville slugger.

My guess is you updated your paypal address now, right? PayPal has pretty strict guidelines for shipping to "non confirmed" addresses. If you ship to an address that's not on your buyer's account, he can come back and say he never got it and get his money back...even with delivery confirmation. Signature delivery is different, however. Sorry you got hosed.

BTW that almost happened to me once when i purchased something.

i managed to keep in great touch with the seller and found out the problem. i asked him how he got my old address because i never mentioned it to anyone, and he said it was the default setting for paypal.

changed it to the new address and also verified the new one as well.

total pain in the ass, sorry you got screwed.

I wish I lived by you! I'd love to hold them for ya :gethim: :gethim: :gethim: :gethim: :D

Damn! That sucks ass man. Sorry to hear about what happened, especially since things like that are very hard to find stolen - even if you have the serial #'s. I honestly believe that for every stroke of bad luck, there's a good stroke of good luck. The universe has a way of balancing itself out. Look forward to the future and good fortune.

Yeah, I changed the addy in Paypal. What grinds my gears is that I've never had stuff stolen from that address and the wife or I go by every day to pick up mail. Someone had about 3 hours to nab it... and not only that, but it was a small box and my porch doesn't face the street. Someone had to see it get delivered, then get on my porch and take it... they couldn't have seen the package from a distance at all.

Oh well, could have been nailed on a Bogner amp or something, or bought a dual recto and got a bunch of ceiling tiles. I remember when that went down. :)

Well, the seller DID tell me it was shipping to the old address, and I did say it was ok - because we checked that address all the time. I'm not pissed at the seller, unless he had someone in oklahoma come buy and steal the package. LOL :)

Heh, Hartley Peavey probably sent some goons from Mississippi to steal packages from me because of our Budda thread. :D

Damn it Pete! The world doesn't revolve around you. Hartley Peavey sent those goons out to steal Randall modules, two of which happened to be yours, in his evil scheme to cheaply duplicate their products before taking over their company.

talked to the guy I bought the modules from, he is sending me another module (which I told him he didn't have to do). Very cool of him. He also mentioned something that I didn't think of... he had heard of people following delivery trucks and taking packages that were left.

It kinda makes sense in a creepy way because like I said, you cannot see my porch from the road. Either someone was following the truck or just got lucky and saw it get delivered.

It's a pain in the ass and I usually get irritated when someone does it, but I think I may start asking people to send me stuff signature required. Some of you may want to start doing this also. Just an FYI/public service. ;0

That is very cool of him. If its a business I'd give him a plug here just for taking care of you like that. He has some good Karma coming for taking care of you like that! I do require a signature most of the time but it will be all of the time now! Glad to hear its going to work out for you!

As do I. Wasn't that xiwiwix or something of the sort?

Stinks

on a possible bright side, at least it wasn't something very expensive such as a whole new amp.
