I received a note back from eminence this morning with a question I had about the big fat seal they put on all of their speakers (in this case specific to the superV) and was told in addition to my question that the Superv's are likely going to be discontinued as they do not sell many of them. Well way to go George Lynch! I thought these speakers were supposed to be "perfectly balanced" and remind him of his old Fanes. Then he goes and redesigns his lynchbox and decides that celestion "lynchbacks" are the way to go.. add that to the fact that eminence has about 40 different speakers and I guess the result is that you have to discontinue some.

Personally I like this speaker. I got a second to run in my 4 x 12 with the reissue greenbacks I have but I am seriously considering also getting two celestion EVH g12m (which is simply a heritage g12m with a diff logo that costs 100$ cheaper) and having the best of 3 worlds; greenback, fane, and a good v30 as the super V has a lot of the v30 characteristic minus that high end rip your ear off that a lot of us (though not all) hear from the speaker. I'm guessing the chugga chugga guys don't notice this as much as they generally dial in less treb and mid but to an 80's guy it definitely cuts..

That stinks, I was thinking of trying a set, but don't have the funds right at the moment....

Those speakers are SO last weekend. George has sold his Super Vs on ebay and is currently finding another speaker to endorse.

He's got new celestions they just released. He shouldn't still be searching, but he probably is, because he's a professional gear whore.

Here are the new ones. Most vague description ever.

World renowned speaker manufacturer Celestion have collaborated with George Lynch to create the signature G12-50GL ?Lynchback?.
Dokken's revered guitarist 'Mr Scary' has been closely involved in the development of these new Celestion speakers, with Vintage Celestion tonality, while packing a higher power, 50-watt punch.
One of the most recognizable names in the world of heavy metal guitar, George Lynch has recorded more than twenty albums, and is famous for his accomplished and inventive guitar playing.
In 2010, George challenged Celestion to build his dream guitar loudspeaker.
He wanted a new style of speaker, blending Celestion vintage tonality with the capability of providing, on demand, a harder-edged and more modern sound.
Celestion engineered a speaker with a unique blend of sonic elements taken from models introduced throughout their history.
Tonally, the G12-50GL Lynchback incorporates the kind of detail and harmonic complexity found in vintage models of the late 1960s.
This is then combined with increased headroom, and the attitude, aggression and mid-band character of some of the more modern Celestion speakers.
The result is an ideal balance between a detailed vintage warmth that makes your lead sound sing, and an up-front attitude that delivers punchier rhythm tones capable of cutting through the mix.

so funny because it is so true.. as for the lynchbacks, I agree, worst description ever. No price point, no product release.. wtf? As for Lynch, he's already moved past the brad new lynchbox and is now looking forward to Diezels.... or MArsha's ..which is what the Judge was supposed to be based on .... oh wait, then there is the screamer.. or the Batio overdrive... and then those other amps.. and a skull of a cow.

Well that would explain why he isn't smiling now isn't it?? His shoes are pretty trendy though..I'd love to have one of those super V cabs even if he doesn't play them anymore. Total whore

Gear whore for sure. 1. That ass ugly V guitar that he didn't play or even have in the rack when I saw lynch mob. 2. Randall Lynch Box wasn't even turned on when I saw Lynch Mob. Those ultra ghey pants that he didn't wear when I saw Lynch Mob. I read somewhere that he hated the outfit he wore for the Under lock and key photos. Well, this is just a lame. Only thing good about this picture is the lack of Lynch Gloves.

George has a special clause in all his endorsement contracts that he doesn't have to use or even give the appearance of using any of his signature gear.

I was checking out a Lynch Box last week it looked like a copy of a Hiwatt even down to the port slit on the lower back of the cabinet..
