I received a note back from eminence this morning with a question I had about the big fat seal they put on all of their speakers (in this case specific to the superV) and was told in addition to my question that the Superv's are likely going to be discontinued as they do not sell many of them. Well way to go George Lynch! I thought these speakers were supposed to be "perfectly balanced" and remind him of his old Fanes. Then he goes and redesigns his lynchbox and decides that celestion "lynchbacks" are the way to go.. add that to the fact that eminence has about 40 different speakers and I guess the result is that you have to discontinue some.
Personally I like this speaker. I got a second to run in my 4 x 12 with the reissue greenbacks I have but I am seriously considering also getting two celestion EVH g12m (which is simply a heritage g12m with a diff logo that costs 100$ cheaper) and having the best of 3 worlds; greenback, fane, and a good v30 as the super V has a lot of the v30 characteristic minus that high end rip your ear off that a lot of us (though not all) hear from the speaker. I'm guessing the chugga chugga guys don't notice this as much as they generally dial in less treb and mid but to an 80's guy it definitely cuts..
