James Hetfield, RichieSambora, Dave Mustaine, Dimebag Darrell....etc, etc, etc. Don't care about your opinions of their playing styles or writing abilities, or about my lack of skill or playing technique, lack of theory education whatever.....

While those guys frustrate the hell out of me....as I play in a cover band and 'attempt' to play their stuff as best I can, sometimes well : sometimes not so much, They have rarely, if ever instilled in me the idea to just stop playing. Put my guitar down, admit defeat, wave the white flag and go back to my tasty ales and other liquid refreshments.

BUT THIS GUY really makes me wonder WTF am I doing? Lol....so impressive....(maybe not so much for you talented folks)....but damn...I literally lost track of time for 6 minutes and now have a cold supper to eat.

Some folks brains just have a direct connection to the Gods.......

Yeah, that was awesome.

Mostly when people post links like this I'm underwhelmed. I watched that entire thing. Incredible.

That style of playing always bored me in all honesty. The whole percussive approach with the slapping on the guitar is just annoying to me.

I guess as a whole is shows a lot of talent.

ppffff..... That guy ain't shit! That's Probably the only song he knows. If I taught him smoke on the water he'd be overwhelmed!    :D

While I somewhat agree the style can be boring. My other forum I stated that I couldnt see clubs around here booking that for anything more than an hour. It seems like it'd be more of a street music money maker kinda thing.

I was more impressed, as I've seen videos with original compositions before (that is impressive in a way as well), in the fact that it was a song that I was aware of, and it wasnt just the guitar melodies covered, it was the guitar/bass/drums/vocals and the solo (while not perfectly done, still able to follow with the recording in my head just fine).

This makes you wanna put your guitar down? I mean I am definitely impressed by the technical ability, but I don't really want to be able to pull that off.
Plus, i prefer the original song....

loved it, i dont want to put mine down, i want to play more. Shit.... ill get a electric acoustic and start learning that percussive technique.
Thanks for the upload.

Meh, that guy's got talent, but I wasn't captivated.

On the other hand, for acoustic wizardry, Tommy Emmanuel always leaves me spellbound. The magical vibe and energy in his compositions and playing are nothing short of fascinating:

A guy could play that at a party and someone would come up and ask if they could play Sweet Home Alabama

Id rather see Izzy play it on one black custom slung low with a cigarette dangling !

I liked it. The solo was great that he changes up the style of playing too.
