WGS and Scumbacks?

I have two Scumback Black Backs (M Cones) rated at 16ohm and 65W a piece and I was wondering if any of you guys have ever blended Scumbacks with WGS.

I'd love to buy two M75's but the price point is out of line right now. As far as the WGS are concerned, I'm looking at the following to run in an X-Pattern:

Retro 30
Veteran 30
ET65

I'm looking for tight lows, smooth top end and great mids.

I have listened to Scumbacks 65 watters and WGS ET-65's side by side. To me they are very similar sounding speakers. I love the sound of my 412 loaded with WGS. I also have a 412 loaded with WGS ET65's and Celestion Greenbacks. Very ripping sounding cab. Just my 2 cents.

I was digging the ET65 speakers. I guess I'm overwhelming myself in the hunt for tone

It's tough though. As smooth as the 65's are I'm all-of-a-sudden digging the Retro 30 and although it's an extreme improvement over a Vintage 30; I've never dug V30's.

These WGS speakers sound like they would be worth checking out and I am amazed how they can be kept so low in cost lower than the Chinese Celestions. Are they Made in USA or just assembled here? I have been primarily a Celestion guy with some use of Scumbacks (M75/J75 in a Bogner OS 212) soon to be J75 or M75/H55 in the same cab.

I had some WGS et65s and they had a fizz to them . IMHO
Speakers are a BIG part of my tone and you don't get what
you don't pay for. Save up by 2 more scums

If it were not for college tuition and my ass on lock down (CFO laid down the law) I'd have two M75's.

I may just have to buy some. US assembled and $70 per speaker is a steal. Some guys on YT have got some amazing tone using the 65's.

I'm in the same boat. I bought some black backs in February of last year. Before I sent my Marshall to Friedman, the amp sounded phenomenal. On lieu of my amp coming home soon, I want to get two more speakers to fill the void in my 4x12.

I have used a H75 and a M75 with an ET65. Sounded good to me.

FWIW, I am now using 2 - 65 watt M75LHDC's, 1 - M75 100 watt, sprinkled in with a Mesa MC90 (or whatever the model name is).
