I'm gonna get some WGS Invaders to try out in my 2x12 cab. These are there version of greenbacks. Should be interesting to see how they hold up. Ive read nothing but good things and for the price I figured I might as well try them. Anyone here ever use these?

I have a quad of these in my engl XML pro. I really like them, they are middle ground between a v30 and a greenback. Great speaker really. If you want to hear me playing them check out my YouTube. The submancometh.

dunno about the Invaders, but my HM75s are pretty awesome! WGS speakers are definitely worth it!

I have a pair of them in my closet and can't stand them. They sound like a bright, fizzy mess compared to my Weber Legacies.......even after I broke them in at 15 hours of volume through a power amp.

I own both, and I have no idea how you could say this about the Invader. They're generally smoother (with more rounded highs) and with more mid content than the Legacy. I actually found the Invader so smooth that I paired them with Liberator to bring some more aggressive bite/snarl in the treble.

Are you sure you're talking about the Invader? Or is it under some specific circumstances that you notice this sound?

I've got two in my StoneAge 2X12C that I use with my Splawn QR. I'm a generally a greenback guy and I must say that the WGS Invaders have taken the front spot. Most of what I love about the greenbacks at a higher wattage! Love them.

Wow. It's not even close in my setup. They are brighter/harsher than both my 30oz and 40oz Legacies (65 watt). I'll try to dig up some clips and add more to this thread later.

I have one paired with their ET65 in my Bogner OS2x12. I like this combo with my Friedman BE.

Anyone else? I just ordered a set for my Stone Age 212C.

Can anyone comment on the Invaders alone or paired with the ET-65 or Liberator.

I am trying to save money by buying some Invaders rather than my go to Celestions. All my speakers are Celestions and was going to get another Creamback set.

The description of them being a cross between a v30 and greenback makes me think this could be their take on a Lynchback sort of thing.

I was interested in these for a while but after reading Eyesofthesouth's review of them a while back, i decided against them. I'd like to hear more clips in order to make up my mind. Weber legacies are bitchin! I love mine. 2 on top, regular RI greenies on the bottom.

I think WGS did there homework on these. I bet the Invaders, Celestion Creambacks and Lynchbacks are three of the best high powered GBs available.

Richedie, I know people on this forum poked fun at you in the past for being a speaker whore who could never settle on one type but didn't you have creambacks for a bit? Did you end up geting WGS invaders ordered and installed or are you just assuming that they are that good? Or are you going on specs... personally, the Webers are crunch without the harsh highs. Maybe i like mine more because i pair them with brighter amps. I'm a Marshall with bright caps installed type of guy. Darker amps i can see where these won't do... the other problem people have is that their cab is on the floor blowing at their ears. That will take the top off a lot of speakers. Get down ear level in front of the speaker and they may surprise you while others that you like may horrify you. (V30's perhaps)

Hi Kapa! I had the Creambacks for a while in my Stone Age 212C and preferred the G12K-100s. I like variety, so I am ordering a Creamback M-65 and H-75 for another 212 cab. This way I have them all. LOL. I played the Invader brifly in a friend's cab so I should be careful in what I say since I don't want to sound like an expert. :) Thanks for asking.
I have used Webers and Weber Scumbacks but I needed more cut in a band setting so now I only use V30s and some form of Celestion Greenback. I hear people talking about Webers having crunch without harsh highs....well I have never had issues with harsh highs with any of my Celestions in 30 years but I use good amps. :)
Oh and I have had my ears perfectly lines up with V30s and they sound beautiful with the right amp. My Mesas, PWE and Bogner were all designed and voiced to work best with V30s and boy do they!!! Killer.
