What 6v6's are you guys using?

I need me some.

Two for the Splawn for backup and four for the Rockerverb 50watt mki.

I usually go JJ. $15 a pop. But tempted by Tung-Sol for $22 a pop. I am a tube depot kind of guy. Never had a problem.

They have NOS assorted for $35,but I am unsure how close they match them.

If they can match NOS for $35 a pop, I may get two of those for the Splawn. Can't justify six of them at that price though tbh.

JJ's. Nice and warm.

Before I had my Splawn SS converted to EL34s I used JJ 6v6s , nice fat sounding tube for that amp

I personally find the JJ's the opposite of warm. They're clean and broad with more highs and lows than a more traditional 6V6. Kinda like a mini 6L6.

Tung Sols are warm and squishy. More like you would expect a 6V6 to sound like. Not as much low or high end extension as the JJ's.

Ruby 6V6GT STR's have less low-end than JJ's, kinda like Tung Sols, but they're raspy and edgy in the high mids.

If you can find some old RCAs they are very nice. I had a 50w Crate Stealth that came with those...much better than the "hot tubes" 6V6 that they came with new.

RCA is not in really in budget for this amp tbh. If i can find a good matching pair/quad for the right price I must say that I may go NOS.
