I've always liked the Suhr Aldrich's in
a Les Paul but I would like to try something
different, in the same ballpark.
Throw some suggestions & feedback my way,
I'd appreciate it much!

I think the plain old Gibson 500T sounds great in my custom. I have a BK Painkiller in the other, which sounds good too.

What kind of music? I mean, I could recommend anything from a JB to a PAF to an EMG... Really depends on your taste.

Best pickups I've used have been:

BKP Black Dog
BKP Holy Diver
Duncan JB
Lindy Fralin PAF of some sort

I'm interested too....I have the Classic 57+ in my LP Trad and I think they sound pretty great but I have two Gibby LP Standards and both have BurstBucker Pro...not a bad pickup but I'd like to change one of them to something meatier.

I really like the Gibson 498T
(Vintage feel, but a lot hotter, with mid increase)

I really like EMG's in a Les Paul. I think Mark Day has vids of the seymour duncan actives in a Paul and it sounded very similar to the Aldrich's.

I like the stock 498T and also the Dimarzio 36th Anni PAF set.

59 neck paired with duncan custom in bridge
Motor city detroiters
Jazz neck with jb bridge

Those work pretty good for harder side of rock

Wolfetone dr v neck and marhallhead bridge
Wcr darkuburst set

Great all arounders from clean to mean, but not metal

I've been on a Dimarzio Norton (bridge) and a Dimarzio 36th Anniversary (neck) kick.

Super Distortion. I recently put one in my Standard, and can't believe how good it sounds. There's a reason so many classic songs were cut with this combo.

bareknuckle rebell yell, it's the all round best pickup for a LP i've played

MCP Detroiter or 2nd Degree BB, Rebel Yell, or Suhr Aldrich.

Big fan of lower output pickups in my LPs lately. Got a pair of Sigil Bluesmans in my #1 and they kill for everything from blues to metal. Check em out.
