Which pedal would be the cleanest boost in my FX loop for solo volume jump?

Wasn't the 48vdc creation labs MK4.23 the be all end all?

I think this is mostly decided by the headroom of the FX return. Too much boost for a given headroom only squashes the signal or makes it distort. In some cases it´s better to cut the signal a bit for rhythm sounds and bring it back up for volume "boosts", maybe with something as simple as a volume pedal.

With that said, I´m not too well versed on boosts but have always had good results with my ancient TC Booster+ when I´ve needed it. Great bass and treble controls if you need them, input headroom near line level if you´re running it on 18v and a very clean and powerful output.

TC spark is nice as well

I agree. I have the mini Spark in the loop last to boost solos. ...It has TONS of boost, so I barely have it cracked for a slight volume boost.

I made (you can cheaply buy) a volume box that is essentially just a potentiometer. Rather than boost in the loop, the loop would attenuate and you could use it transversely. This may not fit your needs, but i found boosting loops to be a nasty/noisy business when I tried it.

This is interesting. I too just need a slight bump in volume for the FX loop. I find the mini spark is great, but I just need a simple option. I've not had noise issues with the mini spark, though.

It was part of my solution for a v1 evh 5w volume jump issue between green/blue. Just needed a minor reduction so it didn't suck too much tone.

A lot of amps have a Loop level which can be touted as a volume adjustment when engaging the loop. I jumper mine to get a little more kick out of the power tubes which can thicken things up. I am getting sidetracked but yeah, more than one way to skin a cat. Best of luck!
