I just read in a different post that someone uses a power screamer to "push the front end of his amp" just wondering what the hell this even meant. if anybody can tell me that would be great. thanks.

Send a really hot signal to the input of the amp. Hotter than just a normal guitar signal.

It most likely is a clean boost. Like Zakk Wyld's od pedal. He turns the overdrive off, but turns the level full up so it enters or hits the front end of the amp.

It means to take an overdrive pedal and turn the level up, usually the drive knob is kept down. It sends a hot signal to the input of the amp.
