I've been into cars since I was a little kid. Most of my favorite cars (besides a Caterham or Ariel Atom), most people have never heard of, like a Vector or Porsche Dauer 962LM. Im into cars and racing and that puts a bit of a crunch on my wallet.

I'm digging the Lotus Elise/ Exige. It's a blast to drive. Its too bad I'm a big dude. I had to scrunch up into a ball to get into one. My feet were so big I had to remove my shoes to get my feet in the footwell.Besides that, It's a great car. I'd love to take one on a road course if I had a chance.
I had 4 cars in 2011. I sold three and I'm down to one.
The first was my daily driver for years, a 2004 Acura RSX Type-S. It had good handling, a fantastic 6-speed, and I could throw my biking, backpacking, skis and rock climbing gear in the back. I never ended up maxing it out on the open road. The closest I got was 135 on a one lane logging road in NH. I was practicing for a race in Canada called the "Targa Newfoundland".
This is a 1967.5 Mustang Fastback. Mine wasn't a muscle car and only had an inline 6. It made about 150 horsepower but it had gobs of torque. It was always fun powersliding the car around country backroads.
Next up is the road legal rally car, a 2011 Subaru WRX STI Limited sedan. This car is a hoot to flog around. I maxed it out the second day I had it, but unlike the evo, it's a real handfull to drive, especially at speed. I even got air in it once (luckily, the suspension didn't collapse).
I ended up selling all of them though. The acura had a bunch of electrical problems. In less than a year I went through 5 alternators, 4 batteries, 3 tires and a bunch of other issues. I sold the Mustang to get the WRX STI and ended up selling the STI because I was getting pulled over way too much. That spoiler was an open invitation for cops. It was like, "Hey, look at me".
Now I still have a car that says look at me, but in a positive way. I get thumbs up from teenagers and grannies alike. I got a 2012 Mini Cooper S Clubman John Cooper Works. Its a little slower than the STI, but it has out of this world handling. I haven't had a chance to autocross it yet, but come springtime, I'm going to hit the track.
I don't know what this new year has in store. I've wanted to get a Triumph Thruxton 900 for a few years. Maybe if I can hold off on the gear purchases, I'll get one.
Since we seem to like cars, maybe we can form a Rig Talk driving club or something.
Besides the music and cars, I'm into extreme sports. The gear and the hospital visits drain my wallet too.
