When I first got my BE100, I pretty much played it straight up with all mods off, killer tones. But now after spending more time with the amp at home, practice and a couple gigs, I'm really starting to appreciate all the different feel and tones the mod switches gives the amp. As before I couldn't tell a big difference but I really can now.

I like the SAT switch on the BE ch for smaller rooms, and straight BE with brightest clean setting for larger gigs. I'm still experimenting with the amp and options but I can truly say this is the best amp tones I've ever gotten.

So was just wondering what all mods/voicings do you guys like at home or playing live?
And knob settings would be cool to know too .

I only use that sat switch when I amp playing at home and lower volumes. Other than that I try to run it to get more old school sounds, master cranked, and gain at about 1o'clock. Theres just something about adding things into the signal that I don't like. I know the amp was made with these features, and they all sound great, but the amp sounds so great without any switches. As far as tone settings mids on 10, pres about 5, bass 4, treble 5-6. Just had to send the amp in for repairs so going through a little withdrawal right now :(

Typically, none of them. Straight be for rhythmn playing and straight hbe for lead.
I used the c45 For a while though and liked it.

I use the c45 and the voice switch, and never turn them off! c45 sounds really great and i like what the voice switch does....love all of the options on the be.....they all sound great!

Yes that's pretty much how I use my BE right now. For home playing the SAT switch sounds amazing, but for cranked live playing there's an (like you said "old school" vibe) openness to the amp with all mods off that makes the amp breath and more alive, but that's CRANKED.

I've only tried the C45 mode a few times and haven't really gotten in the zone with it.

There is three mods I'd like to have done to the BE100,
#1. volume knob for the HBE ch
#2. Master volume for whole amp
#3. Bringing back the half power 50w switch, or a lower watt switch.

Maybe Mr.Friedman has designed his amps like this for certain reasons (he usually has tone in mind as the #1 priority I've noticed), but more volume control would be nice.

Hey Dave, if your reading, please tell me or message me if this is possible to have these mods done. Atleast #1-2, HBE Boost Volume and Master Volume over entire amp. Thanks

1 and 3 are doable. 2 you have with the return level if you like. Pm me for the cost.

dave, actually question for you - i seem to remember you saying something about thinking about dropping the return level and just having the simple master volume on front.

do you think the amp sounds any better/different when having the master and return level vs just the master - thinking about the Phil X, for example, that has no return level and just the master - would it sound even better at low volumes if it had a return level on the back in addition to the master?

None at the moment ... used the FAT switch when I was playing my Grosh RC-S and RC-VT with single coils and it worked like a charm to fatten up the overall sound.

Might try C45 and see how I like it some time soon.

I just wanted to take out the return level because it's simpler with less interface headaches. No all people get it.

its definitely simpler - would you say that an amp sounds just as good or the same using a 'regular' master volume instead of a return level to control overall amp volume?
