What gear did Foghat use on the "Foghat Live" album?

Not to forget Roger Earl. Beast of a drummer. Swing and power. His kit on the Live album sounds like feckin' thunder. Big Ludwig drums, tuned low and deep, as they should be. And that snare drum....fuck!

Saw them open for Rush in NYC, 12/76. Great band. We used to do 3 of their tunes way back in 1974, Honey Hush, I Just Wanna Make Love To You, and my fav Foghat tune. I used to love playing this, Step Outside.

Sunn Model T. At least for Rod Price (lead and slide). Looks like this: http://gearlicious-images.s3.amazonaws.com/1053-108527999-vintage-sunn-model-t-1973/a6410.jpg

Rod Price talks about it in a Vintage Guitar interview here: https://www.vintageguitar.com/34762/rod-price/

A lot of players cite the band’s ’77 live album, which ends with a rave-up version of “Slow Ride.” Your slide guitar is shrieking on that track…
The album does seem a solid favorite; I think it captures the essence of what was going on. During that period, I was using a Sunn Model T 100-watt amp, an SG for slide, and a Les Paul for regular lead.

Here's Foghat live in 1974 on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert. Somewhere around the 26 minute or so you can sort of see Rod Price's stack, which looks like the Sunn Model T on top of two Ampeg cabs. You can also see a stack behind Dave Peverett, which looks like a Sunn head to me. You can also see a Hiwatt head behind him, but it appears to be on top of an Acoustic bass cab (there are bass cabs on each side of the drums) so the Hiwatt may be for the bass player. Anyway, a great live show:

This sounds correct. Everything I’ve read says Hiwatt and Sunn.

I did see some pics that had Fender silver face amps onstage. Looked like Super Reverbs.

Ive never heard it, but just downloaded the live album.
Never hung around anyone into Foghat.

Have an hour ride in a few minutes, will check it out.

Found some great old music I never checked out from these forums...

I saw them early with Sunn amps, years later with Marshalls, and the last time I saw them, believe it or not, they were running Dual Rectifiers.
His slide tone with the DR's was off the charts badass! I didn't expect to see that at all but they actually sounded great with them. They had the gain pulled back a bit compared to the usual monster gain settings but it worked well. The tight rhythm sections of Honey Hush during the verses was killer sounding. It was an outdoor state fair gig, can't remember the year. Still been a long time ago...
