Where the hell do you buy that bare grounding wire.
Think hardware store would carry it? (OR just use skinny wire I have a spool of. Its single strand)

It is a single copped strand if that makes a difference.

What gauge are you looking for? I've got spools of 18 and 22 I got off of amazon. Search for bus wire.

smaller gage.....what Gibson used to tie the pots grounding together.

On Amazon it says "tinned copper"

I got mine from Mojotone. I did get some cloth wire for my Special to color coordinate from Tube Depot.

I did the "59" style for grounding and it's a totally different guitar.
Can't believe it took this long to wake up and get my Slash Goldie up to snuff.

Two more Lesters to do.

Thanks Dragon, and others who posted simple wiring diagrams from ThroBak.

I did see that. Thanks brother.

With using ThorBak pickups diagram I am now able to TOTALLY use the volumes and tone controls with great results.

It's incredible just how big the change is, isn't it?

Incidentally, if I remember right original Slash Goldtop model had a unique wiring scheme: 50s on the bridge, modern with a treble bleed on the neck. That way it could run at full volume with the tone rolled down to zero. That was something unique to that guitar and not something he used on others.

On my own Les Paul I have a special push-pull that (in the words of Rocky Balboa) I'm pretty sure I invented. It's the classic "blower" switch that bypasses the pots and switch for 100% full on bridge pickup, except I have it wired to go to the neck pickup and I wired a .022 cap between the bypass lug and ground. So when I pull up the switch I automatically get that "Godfather" tone, no matter how my other controls are set. It's very handy when I'm playing those power ballads, because I like to use the neck pickup dialed down for my clean sound.
